Is it worth doing free dining if we can only go on labor day weekend?

Assuming they are having free dining on 8/26 - 9/22 as previously posted the only time we could go would be 8/30-9/04, I'm afraid the parks and restaurants would be crowded between the holiday weekend and the begining of free dining. I don't want to go and not have a good time just to get some free meals. We're also thinking about universal for a day or two this trip so maybe the crowds would be mostly at disney and we would only have to deal with it there.

I will be there during that time this year. I was also there once in 1999 for Labor Day weekend and found the crowds SURPRISINGLY low, considering it is a holiday weekend. I'd go for it!

It may not be as crowded as you think. A lot of schools start back (ours does) the Tuesday after Labor Day weekend. I know I avoid traveling any distance away that weekend as its just too hard to get back on Monday and then get everyone ready for the first day of school on Tuesday.

we are going on that weekend ,we went year before last at that time and it was uncrowded.Especially Labor Day and the day after.

We went last your for over Labor Day and we did notice it was more crowded on the weekend but it was definitely still manageable. Just remember to get out early or go back out at dinner and you will be fine (you need the mid-day breaks with the heat anyway)

I think just having the free dining makes it worthwhile. Free dining is great. We had it last August.

I was thinking that with the free dining offer starting latter this year that it would be more crowded labor day weekend. My ds does'nt do well with big crowds but I hate to miss out on the free dining. We go back to school the Thursday after labor day this year. I can't pull DS13 out in Sept. he will be starting high school and the 2 weeks prior to labor day he has intense football practice (frowned upon if they miss it).

We went last yar over Labor Day weekend and the parks were crowded on Sat and Sun but Monday and the next day the parks were much better. We walked on rides on Tuesday in the afternoon. I would go again if it were not so hot and humid.
