Is it worth 2 DDP credits?

I have an ADR for Cal Grill to watch Wishes. Is the meal worth 2 TS credits? Would we be better off just watching Wishes in the MK?

Personally, I cannot justify using two TS credits for anything. I would much rather have two separate meals on my vacation. I think it is a much better deal to pay out of pocket if you want to eat at California Grill for Wishes. You can easily control how much you want to eat, and don't have to give up both credits.

I agree. A meal for two adults, not including drinks, would have to come to over $200 to be even close to worthwhile as a 2TS meal.

I did not think watching Wishes from Cal Grill was anything special. The night we went it was incredibly windy, so we ended up going back inside. Also, the view is way off. The fireworks aren't over the castle and the piped in music isn't "on". Now, I think the restaurant itself is pretty good. We really enjoyed our meal and would definitely use 2 credits there. BUT, I wouldn't use 2 credits to take kids there.

If you primary goal is to see Wishes, you are best off doing that in the MK. The best views, and the best experience is definitly there.
I would not use 2 TS just to see Wishes.
If the restaurant and the menu appeal to you, than it is a consideration for you.

I've been thinking about the whole 2 credit thing ... we used two for CG on our last visit. While the OOP for the three of us would've been about $175, and we loved the CG, I don't know if it's the best bang for our DDP buck (I'm sort of thinking it's not the best use for any of the signature restaurants.)

As one poster mentioned, its just not quite the same watching Wishes from anywhere other than on Main Street. From the top of the CR, the castle's HERE, and the fireworks are OVER THERE - and even though we heard the music and narration, it took just a bit of an edge off the magic.

One other thing about the CG - because it seems the portion sizes aren't all that substantial, and if your paying OOP and want to save a little - I'd do an appetizer and entree, or entree and dessert, not all three.

Have you considered using dining credits for one of you, sharing the appitizer and dessert, and paying OOP for one entree? Then you would only use 2 credits for the meal. We are seriously considering doing this ourselves.

Though the atmosphere is very nice and if you can get a seat for wishes it also special (That's a big "IF") I still don't think it's worth it. I'd rather get two meals instead of one. The food was just "OK". My hubby doesn't eat seafood, so he was also limited by the menu and we spend alot of cash on that meal. Wouldn't do it again. The "Only" restaurant worth 2 TS is Victoria and Alberts (IMHO).

I think this is a good idea. You could also do a meal at 'Ohana. We were there last Saturday night. ADR at 8:30 p.m., and we were just starting desert at 10:00 p.m. when Wishes started. The music was on also. While our view wasn't the best, it was still good enough. And I thought the meal was excellent.
