is it true?

During our 1993 trip to WDW we saw rats on the path at CBR. Kind of creepy. We have also seen roaches at Poly, not recently either. I just remember the 2 rats (not mice) behind us on the path ducking in and out of the shrubs.

Didn't see any rats but we did see a baby alligator while riding the liberty boat!

The captain told us part of their job was to scan the water for snakes and such so that wildlife folks could remove them.

If there are humans around you can bet there will be rats...why do the work of finding food when we constantly toss out a smorgasbord for them?

That said...I've never seen a rat a Disney....

I have got to remember NOT to open these kinds of threads anymore

Ignorance is bliss in some cases! :goodvibes

They release predator animals in the parks at times. There are also supposed to be feral cats about the property too.

Actually, it's Disneyland that has the feral cat population (and I've seen them, too!). It's possible that WDW has cats as well, but I've never heard anything about it. Google searches only bring up information about DL's cats.

Of course they have rats...they have food...it is a common thing around there, just as is the roaches (they are huge!), the lizards, and the gators. Just go over to Tom Sawyers island and look off to the edges of the far end and you will find them! They live out there and love to eat on all the turkey legs people throw in the water there  It's true!!!

WHY did I read this post?????? I know rats/mice are everywhere and we just don't see them a great deal of the time, but I'm truly terrified of mice/rats!!!!! Not the kind of girly scared that makes you scream when you see something that gives you the willies either!!!!! I'd have a full-on panic attack if I saw one with my own eyes!!!!!!!!!! It would seriously ruin my trip if I saw one myself!!!!!!!!! Oh, how I wish I hadn't read this entire post!!!! LOL Espeically since we're staying at CBR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :( I'm going to be praying for MAJOR pixie dust on our trip in October to not see any that are around me!!!!!!

Not to further gross anyone out, but there's also cockroaches. Anywhere there's food (and vegetation) there's vermin. Once I was munching on a lovely salad at the old Steak and Ale, and, loaded with reduced fat Italian dressing, out crawled a cockroach. Extra crunchy and loaded with protein.
:scared1:

I have been to Disney World many times and have never seen a rat. I did find a mice and a nest in my gas grill last week though. First time I have used that grill in a long time.

We had a cat years ago that we use to let outside. He found mice almost every day and brought was was left of them to our door step. Sometimes three a day. He would also catch them and leave them on other people's door steps. He was a great cat.

i read on here that people wereb sorry that they read the post well.. i'm sorry i posted the post they say don't ask questions you don't want to know the answers to i should have known better.

There is wildlife all over WDW property. This could be snakes, squirrles, rats, mice, gators, turtles, rabbits, small reptiles, etc.

My daughter and I were eating outside at CSR and a squirrel jumped on her chair and swung up to the table to steal her fruit. It was actually kinda freaky when you see how brave they are.

Just be glad there's no pics on this thread (yet...)....once I saw the "snake in the room at the Poly" thread pics I was freaked out for years. Was that the thread where it was a HUGE snake - like 6-8 feet - and it was just hanging out on top of the curtain rod along the sliding door? I would have fainted dead away. No amount of bribery would have ever made me go back in that same room again.

I must say that the armadillos we saw in February were very interesting, and non-threatening looking. It was the 1st we'd ever seen them there. I was more afraid of the gulls - they chased us whe we had churros - one stole the churro right out of DS12's hand as he was eating it!

Snapped this picture just inside Cinderella's Castle:

Sorry! :lmao:

Couldn't resist! :rotfl2:

In case you took me seriously...This is a joke. It's just a random photo from the internet. Although, I'm sure there are rats at Disney...I'm also sure they're not feeding them from a pool of milk inside the castle.

Rats are everywhere. I saw one once at Times Square walking down the sidewalk.
