We were sitting at the Tomorrowland Terrace eating dinner back in May of 2008 and I had one run across my feet. It then jumped on a girl at another table and into the bushes. It was scary and funny all at the same time.
I've been to Disney several times (see my signature) and have NEVER once encountered a rat. That's not saying there isn't any at all. Rats can pop up anywhere and Disney is no exception but, in all my visits, I've never see one.
Last fall I did see a rather scary spider hanging out in a huge web of death but, I just kept an eye on him as I passed by and I also have a fear of things with more than 4 legs so, it probably wasn't as bad as I made it out to be...

oh i was so hoping that you would say the oppisite i'am so scared of mice let alone rats it will be just my luck that very few people have seen them while they were there and they will probly come out in droves to scare me out of my mind.
Except cats are no match for a full grown rat. You need a Jack Russell Terrier to get rid of rats. A friend worked in a horse barn, and one fall, her JR killed 52 rats.
Are you talking about cute little mice or huge rats? There's a difference, although both are YUCKY! As a pp said with the water and woods I'm not surprised - I just hope we never see one!
Not to further gross anyone out, but there's also cockroaches. Anywhere there's food (and vegetation) there's vermin. Once I was munching on a lovely salad at the old Steak and Ale, and, loaded with reduced fat Italian dressing, out crawled a cockroach. Extra crunchy and loaded with protein.
