Just back from a stay at Kidani. HAd savanna view in second pod to right of Lobby pod, 5th floor. I could see the whole savanna. The first night, there were tons of animals, with a um' something or other' spending the night below my balcony. After that, they 'passed through' rather than staying around.
It's nice being the first bus stop. I think at prime times like park closing, the two resorts should have seperate busses, like they do at the all stars. REALLY difficult to maneuver an ecv through crowds of people who are not getting off.
The 'sleeper' of Kidani is the WONDERFUL, FABULOUS, friendly and talented savanna guides. I attended the drum circle and lecture almost every night I was there - those kids are great! Livingroom is lovely and usually peaceful - a private public space. Community hall for families - I could see they would love it and miss it at Jambo.
Had meals at Sanaa (lunch, 10% DVC Disc) Tandoori chicken salad - the chicken was over done, but the rest of the meal was yum. Boma - what's not to like? Carrot Ginger soup makes a great dessert! Jiko - they treated me like a queen. Short ribs - fabulous!
My home resort is Jambo and this was my first stay at Kidani. The room itself was the same size as a value studio at Jambo - just the hall is longer and the bathroom larger and all "inside the door". Kinda wasted space if you ask me. The kitchen counter is about 15" wide and filled with coffee pot and toaster leaving maybe 10" square in which to "do something". The 'shelf' is a joke - about 4 inches of space beside the microwave. Lots of wasted space at the lockoff door - which is where I parked my ecv. I moved the coffee service stuff and ice bucket to the unreachable top shelf of the cupboard to have room lower down for my food and supplies.
Since I was alone, I didn't get in my own way, but I'd sure hate to try and live with more than two people in that room.
Can't wait for next year's trip, but hoping for a value room at Jambo. I'll have to trek over to Kidani for Drum Circle, though!
