Good morning all :surfweb:

Happy Sunday!! :goodvibes

Stay warm, Laura. :cold: Luckily, here in Georgia, we haven't had a taste of winter yet.

Short, busy week. The grocery stores were slammed yesterday. Today is the first day in many Atlanta area cities that we will be able to buy alcohol on Sunday! :woohoo: I will be purchasing today!!! :yay: (it's the little things that make me happy!)

Wishing you all a magical day! pixiedust:

Hello everyone! I'm getting very excited about our trip. We'll be at AKL in a pool view room Dec. 14-21. We've stayed there once in 2003 in savannah view and I've always wanted to go back.

I have a question I haven't been able to find an answer to. My hobby is photography and I've already told DD9 that I will be going off sometimes just to take pictures. I've seen maps of AKL but there is no indication of where north is in relation to the lodge. Where would be good places to catch the sunrise and sunset? Our plane doesn't land until 5:30 so it'll be dark by the time we arrive at AKL. I want to be prepared first thing in the morning to be in a good spot so I don't miss anything wandering around looking to see where the sun is coming up.

We're planning on spending our first day at the resort with maybe a trip to Downtown Disney in the evening.

Thanks!

Morning all J & K!:goodvibes

Kay, great pics! Made me smile this morn for sure:)

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

I haven't a clue as to north/south/east/west! From what I remember though, if you are in a pool view room on Giraffe Trail, you may well have a sunrise view from your balcony. :cloud9: We were in a pool view room on the 5th floor (DVC 1-bedroom) in August and I captured this picture:

That was from room 5030, an (obstructed) pool view on Giraffe Trail.

I don't think I've ever captured a sunset view from AKL. :confused3

Kay and Laura, thanks for the great pictures! :goodvibes

You're welcome! Wish I hadn't started looking though -- making me homesick!! ;)

You know what I just realized regarding the Culinary Tour? There was a larger group of us at Boma -- when we moved over to the Jiko portion, it was just us 5!!

Laura & Marco: do you think we scared the others away?!!! :rotfl:

Good morning! Have a great day, Elin. I also have a cold and I haven't had one in several years. The timing is good though -- we should be fine by Thanksgiving! :thumbsup2

Silver lining, my friend... silver lining! :goodvibes

Good morning, Js & Ks! :sunny:

Thanksgiving shopping is done (I think), so I a relaxing today. :yay:

I have been doing my best to follow Dr. Brandi's cure-all: Beaujolais Nouveau on Thursday night, Pumking Ale on Friday and a double Aspen Old-Fashioned when I got home last night. Still have the cold, but looking forward to my meds today. ;)

I have a theory about your culinary tour dropouts, Laura: if JD made that face at every tasting he may just have scared the others off! :rotfl2:

:lmao: That was perfect, Elin!! :rotfl:

I'm going to show your post to JD when he gets home!! You will probably receive a text from you-know-who!!! :rotfl:

I need to try some of those meds today!! :woohoo:

First day for Sunday Alcohol sales here in many metro ATL cities!! Stocking up just cuz I can!! ;)

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Maybe that Marco was eating with way too much enthusiasm ...
:rotfl2: No food left !!! :lmao:

Seriously though , in OUR photos there are :thumbsup2 OTHER people tasting food at my right end !! ;)

What a nice tour we all had !! laura :yay:

It was fun, wasn't it?!! I just remember that larger family (3 generations I believe) didn't seem too happy to be with us!! And when it looked like they might have to crowd in with us at the counter by the ovens, they fled! :rotfl:

Could someone please give me some information on the one & two bedroom club suites? Is it possible to have adjoining rooms if one party is in one bedroom ste and the other in a two bedroom ste? Are we guaranteed a savannah view on club level? Thank you!

Are you talking about the DVC Villas or the AKL suites? The only rooms on Club Level are the DVC Villas (there are very few). The (non-DVC) Resort Suites are on different levels and I am not even sure where they're located within the resort. :confused3
