Is it too late to make plans for December?

We thought we might be going, then weren't sure that we were, now we are definitely going to go the first week of December to stay at AKL. ALthough we have been to the World many times, we have never gone in December, so tell me what we must do (or will it be too late to make plans now for any of the extras?)!

We have gone the last 2 years during this week and it's the BEST. Holiday decor, low crowds and great weather. You will love it!!!

I highly recommend you do MVMCP if you can get tickets. It's a separate charge, but well worth it to see the parade, lots of character interaction, special fireworks and the rest.

Also recommend you take time to visit the resorts. Grand Floridian and WL (where we stay) are especially cool with holiday decor. Be on the lookout for special holiday things to do around the resorts, too. Small stuff but it adds charm.

Hope you have a great trip!!!!

I don't think you'll have any trouble with MVMCP. Priority seatings shouldn't be too hard, just be flexible with your times. Dinner shows might be out though. Give reservations a call and see what happens! Who cares you're at the World!!!!!!!!!!!

Two years ago, I decided towards the end of November to take my DD to WDW for the week before Christmas. Managed to get a great upsell rate at AKL (you'll love it, it's spectacular at any time but particularly so at Christmas), tickets for MVMCP with a PS for dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern, package for the Candlight Processional (a definite not-to-be-missed) with dinner on the patio at Rose & Crown, Osborne Lights (unfortunately not showing this year) and, thanks to the kindness of fellow DISers, breakfast at Cindy's and dinner at Boma!

Needless to say, we had the best time - so much so we did it all again the following year! Just really bummed that it's not in the budget this year so please have a magical time for us too!

Have you already checked availability at AKL that week? If not, do that immediately and get your reservation in! I know the monorail resorts are pretty tight the weekend of the 5th-7th. You should be OK at AKL, but don't delay.
