Although we are still debating between Halloween and Christmas season, once we do make the final decision, which my DH thinks will be this week. He wants to ask a co-worker who has been DL for both holidays which his family liked best. Anyways, once we do decide, we'd like to book. But, since it is about a year or so away, is it too soon to book?

Is there an advantage to booking now vs waiting till later on? Any disadvantages?

Planning to stay offsite at Sheraton Park as we did like it earlier this month & since we are taking our dog again, they were a great hotel for us.

Thanks everyone!!!

If you've never been during Christmas you must experience it! As for booking now some
Disadvantages are that Disney hasn't put out the special offers on packages for next fall yet so by waiting a few more months you could snag a good deal. Other than that I think early planning is a good rule of thumb.

Christmas time is magical!!! We always go end of Nov. Beginning December and this year I booked our hotel in January since rates were super cheap. I always start shopping around for rates early in the year and book a hotel when I am comfortable with the price. For car, I check back with rates up until the day that I leave! This year so far my car rental started at 690 and I have it down to 256 for 10 days. And for flights, I book when I'm comfortable with the price and not check back again in case the flight prices did go down. I did that one year and was super bummed when they did come down. So I learned not to check.

I think once you have your dates set start shopping around until you get a price you are comfortable with :)

I always start in January for a end of year trip :)

I just booked my sons birthday trip (just the 2 of us) for Oct 13-20th! :) Never too early to start preparing!!! :yay:

I agree with pp, book now and check back periodically for deals. On our last trip we split our stay between GCH and the Beverly Hills Hotel. Disney reduced the rate for me twice as better rates came along and the Beverly Hills Hotel reduced my rate three times. I also reduced my car rental at least once. Most places will adjust your rate if a better one comes along. Otherwise you could just cancel and re book at the better rate. We will be there in February and plans for a WDW trip in January 2014 are already in the works. I will start booking that as soon as I can and just keep my eyes open for deals.
