Is it too early to be thinking about March break vacations?

Is it too early to be thinking about booking an AirBnB or VRBO rental for March break? (Refundable, of course!) Everyone seems to be travelling and planning for travel these days and I'm just wondering if anyone has booked something for next March break or is thinking about it?

We booked our flights for March break from Halifax. I was hesitant because the flights were 910.00. That’s way way more than we normally pay for March. I figured if the went down I could try to cancel and rebook. I’m glad I booked. Same flights are $1300.00 😳

Wow. thank you for your replies! I'm definitely going to sit down with my husband and figure it out.

Next question: is everyone taking the Saturday to Saturday for traveling or are you doing dates outside of the actual March break, like Thursday to Thursday to avoid the rush at the airports?

We have our hotel (am DVC too) and flights already booked. Air Canada has already changed them on us, twice, lol.

Our March break is 2 weeks long (actually more like 2.5 because the Friday before is a PD day... gaaah :headache:) so we fly out on March 15 which is a Wednesday, and then fly back on Friday, March 24. Airfare was definitely cheaper leaving on Wednesday.

We booked for March break 11 months out, as soon as the flights came out and we were able to book our DVC. We are going Mar 2-12, it’s a Thurs-Sun. I always debate about coming back on Saturday to give us a day to rest and clean up but then I realize I want to soak up every last minute of the sun!

Definitely not too early for March break, we used to book 11 months out. Sadly we missed out on travelling for the last 3 March breaks due to the pandemic. No more March break family trips for us with oldest going away to university 😢. But I’m currently working on booking Hawaii or Atlantis for the Xmas break instead!

We booked flights for March break close to when they were released (on par with Expedia's release). Our flights are Sat - Sun so prime time. That one isn't a Disney trip but still a flight from Ontario to Florida for a cruise (so we can't go mid week). For our Disney trip coming up, we booked the hotel and tickets more than a year out.

It's never to early. I've been on the phone/chat/email for a week about troubles linking my hotel booking....for January!

And remember, if this was pre covid you'd be only 2 months away from dining reservations opening for march (6 months in advance plus length of stay). Sounds ridiculous in retrospect.

Definitely not too early to book a March break trip. I always recommend booking early for busy times.

When we travel over March break we often fly mid week. We save hundreds of dollars that way.

This is the first year for me that I don't have to plan a March Break Trip (retiring school staff).
But if I were I would definitely be watching for next year............:magnify::magnify::magnify:

1. Air Flights rarely go down for March Break...book as soon as they come out.✈️

2. Hotels seem to be going up up up for next year ,,if you can try booking with a cancellation policy.🏨

3. Avoid travel on weekends as they can be super busy

4. I agree with wdwmom3 that mid week flights are usually cheaper.💵

5. Start a Disney savings account and stash some cash or Disney Gift Cards ... it makes the holiday so much nicer.✨

Have fun planning
Hugs

Now back to planning my Jan 2023 trip💖
