Is it the ride, or just Stitch Bashing?

I dont have AE experience either.

I agree with others, that they felt robbed of their time in the parks by waiting for this attraction. I can find redeeming qualities in anything, but Stitch I cannot.

I wasnt thrilled with LMA either, but I would recommend that everyone at least see it once because there were some really neat parts. Stitch, no neat parts, no nothing, that made us say, "Im glad we spent the time to see that"

I have family going in October and I have already told them to Fast Pass or Skip Stitch.

Stitch and Garden Grill are off our list and not many Disney things get scratched off that list.

Well, I have no AE encounter experience, but my husband does. My daughter is a huge Stitch fan, and both she and my younger daughter liked it. I thought it was cute, in fact, I laughed a lot throughout but little kids that were in the audience were crying. I guess we are in the minority. :confused3

Well, I for one despise the Stitch take-over of WDW...and, you guessed it, I hated the ride, too. I thought it was awful. Then again, I hated Alien Encounter, too.

The problem with Stitch is that it's just a watered-down version of AE. However, now it's too scary for little kids and too boring for anyone over the age of 12. At least with AE, there were some moments of tension...with Stitch, it's just plain bad.

I won't deny the fact that I can't stand Stitch...which I'm sure makes me like the ride even less.

And here's a funny problem with the ride that my brother noted -- Stitch does not get his name 'Stitch' until he meets Lilo. However, this ride is supposed to take place before Stitch travels to Earth. Why then is Stitch calling himself Stitch during the ride? Hmmmm?

If you expect Stitch's Great Escape to be a RIDE, and waited 90+ mins in the heat...you are going to be upset. I liked it though (except for the chili-dog thing). DS is a Stitch fan, and we went twice. It is more like a mini multi-sensory animatronic Stitch appearance with a loose story line.

Go and have fun.

Well I am not a huge stitch fan- but my kids are. I thought the ride was lame. My kids said"Is that it?" when it was over. So while it was cute to see the Stitch animatronic thingie- the ride itself is a bust.

I never got to experience AE, liked Stitch and was looking forward to the attraction - and was disappointed. The story (what there was of it) was disjointed. You just sat there in the dark and Stitch burped in your face and ruffled your hair. They could have done some really good things with the attraction, but it really seems as if it was done as cheaply as possible using as much of AE as possible.

I agree with penchris......... stitch is NOT a ride......... you go in, sit in a chair, and then leave, NO ride.......... it's boring, and the chili dog thing is not the best Disney could have done. It's disappointing, and our entire family hated it.......... thank goodness we didn't wait long......... or YES, I'd have been upset. I'd tell anyone who asked, SKIP IT......... it is NOT worth the time to stand in line, even if you walked right in. I also agree, BOOOO on Disney, this SHOW is a shame.

I disliked AE only because I didn't think it was appropriate for the Magic Kingdom. Had it been a Studios attraction, I would have liked it.

I thought Lilo and Stitch was a great film. The best Disney Animated Feature since The Lion King, in my opinion. And, I like the Stitch character for a long list of reasons.

However, I do not like Stitch's Great Escape. The story lacks all sense of flow and relies on stupid tricks (like the chili dog) to get any impact. Think about the storyline. You are recruited to help secure a high level prisoner who is about to arrive. How the heck can we help? You just strapped us down so that we can't move! It makes no sense.

It was a colossal waste of time, money and effort. It didn't have to be, though.

We LOVE Stitch, even with all the bad reviews I read on the DIS we gave the attraction a shot!!! OMG, it was worse than I even imagined!!!

PS: Sorry Stitch, we will still watch the movie, but won't participate in your attraction!!! :goodvibes

I am a Lilo & Stitch lover. I have Stitch hanging from my rearview mirror & Lilo hula'ing on my dash.....

That said, I absolutely hated SGE. It was such a waste of time. I wanted to like it, really I did. But I could find no redeeming qualities whatsoever. I have never met a Disney Attraction that I didn't like at least some of, but this one I would say I probably will never go back to again.

That said - I also LOVED Alien Encounter & thought it had a real place in MK & that pre-teens & teens should have some attractions like AE geared toward their age group. That's just good marketing.
I also think they are over-marketing Stitch. As much as I love him, they are over-saturating him & I'm getting sick of him too. It was like they did with Pooh & they are doing with the Princesses. Too much of a good thing.....

OK, I never thought this would happen, but you all have just convinced me to cross Stitch off the agenda for the Dec trip; we're trying to show our friends a good time, not bore them to death. :rotfl2:

For the record, I always liked AE. I liked the backstory, thought it was very funny, and genuinely scary, even when I knew exactly what was going to happen. It WAS probably too scary for small children, but that doesn't mean you need to deprive everyone of the experience, certainly not to the point where apparently it bores even the wee ones.

Well, we just got back, and we loved Stitch. We followed the plot line quite easily (Stitch is beamed in, level 3 prisoner, he escapes, they try to catch him as he creates havoc, he beams himself to Earth) and had fun with the subtle puns. My older daughter, who can mimic Stitch perfectly, played mind games with the other guests by making Stitch sounds at random moments :teeth:

The chili dog smell isn't any worse than the skunk smell on Figment, or the sour handrail smell at Splash Mountain...

If you go to WDW for the 'big' stuff, Stitch might not be your type of attraction. We go for the whole place, and love all of it!

Or the stinkbug at ITTBAB!

I don't understand why people harp on that so much. :confused3

(omg - blech - the smell of splash mountain is by FAR the worse!)
