We're planning to go to the parks on Sunday and Monday and curious if it's still Spring Break for kids because it's pretty late into April now. Hoping it's not too busy. We're interested in trying to catch a good viewing spot for MSEP either at 8:30 or 10:30. I assume the 10:30 showing will be less crowded but if it's still Spring Break, 8:30 or 10:30 might not have much of a difference.

We're so looking forward to this quick little trip because the kids have never seen this parade and my wife and I have never seen it. I do remember the commercials running as a kid. They seem like they were running the MSEP commercials all of the time. Our favorite parade is PTN. I know the MSEP is not the same as PTN but we're still excited to see this for the first time.

Any tips?

For the most part, I think Spring Break is over. DLR is transitioning back to their non-peak season schedule this week (i.e., shorter hours and reduced entertainment). Based on the current schedule, the parade is at 8:30 and 10:30 (with fireworks at 9:25) on Sunday and at 8:30 and 10:15 (no fireworks) on Monday.

There won't be a 10:30 parade on Monday, the park closes at 10pm. It will be earlier if there is a second parade.

We're planning to catch the parade on Sunday night but it seems like it's still expected to be busy because the hours for DLR are 8am to 12 midnight. Plus the weather is supposed to be nice that will have an impact on crowds.

I'm headed to the park on Friday... I've been checking the app the past few days and it has looked pretty busy for weekdays that are not spring break....

I think it has to do with blockouts...as SMD mentioned, the So Cal Resident and Military ticket offers are valid now, along with all APs. There were blockouts in effect through last weekend, which seemed to reduce crowds. It'll be interesting to see what this Saturday is like, when there are AP blockouts (but no ticket offer blockouts).
