My local grocery store has Mickey and Pooh fruit snacks on sale for $1.66 this week and Capri sun for $1.48. We are driving down and staying in a condo and will be bringing our own snacks into the parks as well as needing snacks for the drive each way.

We are not going until December. What do you all think? Should I take advantage of the really good price. or am I nuts? The bargain shopper in me cringes at buying them for more later when I know I am going to need them, but 6.5 months ahead seems a little crazy! I figure I could just put them in the suitcase for now and transfer them to a box for the trip later.

I'm one to stock up on non-perishables during a really good sale. It depends on the shelf life of the food. I'd say there's a good chance those items will go on sale again before you go in December.

Don't buy the fruitsnacks this early. I had a box (about 6 months old) which I found behind a box of cereal on a high shelf. Just found it last week. The fruit snack were hard. I had to throw them all out.

The juice should be fine though.

Check the expiration date on the juice. That stuff lasts a really long time, but the store may have already had it on the shelf for a long time.

I'd wait because I watch sales and see those things going on sale pretty frequently. Besides, if you wait, you may get a coupon and a sale at the same time.

One other suggestion - has your family had these snacks before? You might want to buy just one box while they are on sale so that everyone can try them and make sure they like them. Then get them again the next time they go on sale, closer to your trip. I have taken new snacks before and no one liked them, so I was stuck with them. Even on sale, it's no bargain if no one will eat them.

I too am going in December. I wouldn't buy thing so soon. I plan on buying everything the week before. You also have to look into where are you going to store this stuff for the next 6 1/2 months.

Most things go on sale several times a year.

I think it is fine to buy that stuff ahead of time..however, check your expirations dates before you buy, sometimes stuff about to expire is put on sale. I also recommend also you let your family try those snacks before you invest a lot in them, or get to WDW with stuff no one will eat or likes.
