My fiancé and I are set to get married on the Disney Wonder next August while cruising to Alaska. My question is is it really worth it to pay 3000 for the wedding package? From what we are learning you only really get the cake and in our case 2 boutonnierres, and a little music. The photographer is extra, having Mickey is 500 extra and there's no guarantee he will show up. They can't guarantee which day you will get married. The cake is probably worth 100 dollars and the flowers 25 at best. I'm just not seeing where the 3000 is going. Do they do something for you that is not advertised? I'm really trying to see the value in this. I know it's Disney but this seems a bit much even for Disney.

Strictly from a financial perspective, no Disney wedding package is "worth it." As with many services, you can spend a lot less if you DIY the individual elements. People who pay for Disney weddings do it because they want the whole experience. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether they are comfortable with the associated costs. :thumbsup2

If you don't pay DCL the 3000 where will you get married instead? How much will that cost?

We are getting married this December on the Dream on Castaway Cay. We are going for the experience and ease of the whole matter. I would also say it was Disney demand and reputation that also adds to the cost. We had to hop around to 6 different cruises before we could find an opening, 13 months in advance. Granted, they told me the beach weddings are super popular and book very early in advance. We are spending as much money on our 9 person, 3 day cruise wedding (cruises included), as we would have spent on the original 150 person, 4 hour regular wedding we debated first. We felt we made the better decision overall, we'd have a nice wedding and our closest family members got a short vacation out of the deal.
