Is it really that harmful to take a break of fireworks??

I broke 8000 my first time 1-26-08, and broke 8000 again a few times
earlier in February. Then I took my a two day break from fireworks and
started playing again today.

I can barely make it to 6500!!! I usually end the first three stages with
perfect scores- 1300 or 1400. Now the highest I can get is 1000 or 1100.

It keeps scoring me awesome instead of flawless, and I didn't realize until
now that it brings your score down A LOT.

All my good firework playing friends are laughing at me as they score 1000 more
than me when I used to be around their level..

I cant answer your question, but as a person who has never broken 4500 despite tips from MANY high scoring players, I think you should be very very proud of your scores. Great work!

I agree with Dreams. you should just be glad you can get up THAT high. my top is like 4000.

Yep, that's happening to me right now. My high is a little over 7200, but I usually average around 6000 or so. I took a looooong break from fireworks back in late November/ early December when I started getting TERRIBLE lag from VMK. I went back and played a couple games about a week and a half ago and only scored 5400. Of course, a big part of the problem is that my mouse buttons aren't responding to my clicks as well as they should, but I'm also having a harder time keeping up with the fireworks than I used to.

I've taken a week or longer break before. Sometimes my breaks actually make me play better. When I exercise first I definately play better afterwards. Sometimes If I'm really mad I play better too lol.

Happens to me all the time. Sometimes my breaks get me good scores though as well. Just keep playing -- you'll get back up there in no time.

Well it's not how high I'm getting that's the point of this thread... it's the
1500 decrease. If I could only get 4000 and it decreased to 2500 I would
still complain LOL.

To everyone else, good, looks like I'm not the only one that does a lot worse
after a break of fireworks. hehe

For me I seem to be the opposite. When I play fireworks too much my scores go down. I will take a break and then my scores go back up.

Weird. The more I play fireworks my scores go up and up. Then I take
a break and they start out low.

I just got 7472 in fireworks so I'm starting to get better again..

I played in a few of the same games as you tonight shark, and my score really pales in comparison to yours even if you were scoring "lower" than you have been! I'm always impressed at those high scores when I see them!!!

I don't play fireworks until I have to for a quest. I hate fireworks more then I can say, it is so frusrating to play it that it bring me to tears; and that is not fun, so I don't play it.

I can totally agree with you on that one, but Fireworks is my main credit-earning
game so I have no choice.

Still have a soft spot in my heart for the "real" original game. I want my 280,000 scores back!

Yes, when I take a break, my scores have to climb back up.

But I just stopped for the night because they are climbing back down now that my eyes are so tired.

And I still let it all fall apart in the last round. I watch the best players, who I can keep up with in a good game, just kill me in the fifth. I start out that last set with 6000 or so and still can't get past about 7400 at the end.

I was trailing GoofyGeggy this evening, wasn't his highest game, but I was still in awe watching his score going from 6200 at the start of the end level and end with over 8000.
