Is it really possible getting the Boardwalk when taking exit 352 off I-75 in Ocala?

Last month when my family and I drove from Valdosta, Georiga to the Boardwalk Inn we had put their address on our navigation system. Well while we were driving in Ocala the navigation said to get off exit 352 of I-75 and turn left. So I am wondering is that an actual way for getting to the Boardwalk or WDW in general because I didn't think you can go that way.

From google maps it would appear your most direct route would be to continue on I-75 to the Florida Turnpike, to Route 429, to exit 8 (Western Way) and into WDW.

Why anyone would get off at exit 352 in Ocala,Fl to get to the Boardwalk is beyond me,maybe there's something called Boardwalk in Ocala that it was confusing it for.That's why it's better to use common sense most of the times over those navigation systems.I'm not saying they're not useful as they are but many times they just don't give the best or accurate information.I remember I was driving in Orlando following a R.E agent who was showing my uncle houses in Orlando.This was a local agent who should know the area,instead he was simply keying in the address for the houses and we must have spent 2 hours extra that day just correcting wrong turns,making u-turns and simply not finding places.I was following the R.E agent without a navigation system and since I know Orlando pretty well I would have gotten to those houses far easier than the local agent.

Believe me we had put the correct address for the Boardwalk Inn, so I am not sure why it said to get off that exit in Ocala.

Now I also found out our navigation basically tells us to avoid toll roads. For example when going to The Loop Plaza it says to go down 192 and turn at a specifc road, instead of going down 535 and using the Osceola Expressway which is the fastest route possible. I came to that conclusion about the toll roads because when driving back home in Ontario we take a specifc highway to a toll highway however the navigation advised against it, even though the way toll road was a lot faster.

Getting off in Ocala and then taking US-27 to US-192 to WDW is a valid way to get you to Disney's Boardwalk Inn without tolls.

I'd rather pay tolls and get there more quickly.

Our GPS does the same thing.
#1-it's about 2 miles shorter due to difference in angles, US 27 is more direct, even though it takes much longer.

Are you really supposed to follow the GPS over parts of the route where you already know the way?

Hopefully the GPS will figure out and recite new directions if you choose your own route and then rely on the GPS as you get closer to your destination.

Believe me we didn't get off in Ocala and drive down their roads to the Boardwalk Inn. We went towards the Turnpike and then onto I-4.

Try Skelooch's directions next time, much easier and quicker than taking the turnpike to I-4. It's a much nicer road and comes out right next to Coronado Springs Resort!

My father has an older GPS, and it refuses to put him on a toll road (no matter what settings you select in the menu). When we travelled to Disney with him last time, when he got on the turnpike, it kept telling him to exit or u-turn or anything except continue forward on the turnpike. It actually SHUT ITSELF OFF when he didn't obey it's constant requests to get off that road! No that's a piece of technology... one that actually pouts if you don't listen to it!

I-4 is a nightmare at any time......I avoid it like the plague. I have learned a lot of nifty ways around it since I moved here.

After passing the exit for I65 and hearing "recalculating" as we passed exit after exit that it wanted us to take and head back to I65, it finally said "You can't get there from here" and shut the navigation down (We were on I24 at that time and have driven that way many, many times). I guess she (female voice) finally got mad at us for ignoring her instructions. I have learned to put an intersection on I57 as a via point so that it will take us the correct way.
I hope that our new Garmin Nuvi with some added features including learning will learn our preferred routing quickly so that I don't have to remember to add the via point.

i too take I57 home to chicago rather than I65 my tom tom does the same thing i just go to I57 shut off my gps and when i turn it back on after a few miles it redirects me on I57
