Is it realistic to think I will be doing laundry while in WDW?

We will be spending the night before our cruise at POP, 4 nights on the Wonder and 2 nights afterward at POP. DS will be 17 months on our trip- do I just pack a ton of crap and be done with it or expect that I will do some laundry?

We will be going in early December so the weather may be unpredictable. Any tips on what to pack? Do you do laundry at WDW?

:I am thinking it is very realistic to expect to do laundry. At just about every hotel there are washing rooms. @ the pop i think it's by the pool.

We travelled that same week last year. We had some days that were shorts and tee shirt days and some that were sweatshirts and jeans days. You just have to check the forecast really well before you leave and plan for layering. Not easy to do without bringing a ton of luggage with you. I packed a few of everything and planned to do laundry. It worked out really well for us. I did it in the middle of our 8 night trip when we were getting ready to change resorts.

I would definitely plan to do laundry with a 17 month old! Both of mine were capable of some HUGE messes on their clothes at that age and I would not want to deal with those stains (and smells) after setting in for a week in a suitcase.

I think we went through 2-3 outfits a day with each child (dd15 months and dd4) when we went in June. Between drippy snacks, grime from rides and sitting on the ground watching parades, and an inevitable leaky diaper. We would start in the morning with clean clothes, change at least once mid-day (either in parks or when we returned for mid-day breaks) and then again before dinner.

That said...laundry is very easy to do. Just take your own laundry soap in little baggies.

I do laundry at least once when I stay in a resort. When I am in my MIL timeshare (in room laundry) a small load (staking washer dryer) everyday. I can pack less, which is less stressful for me. I either throw a load in very early or very late so it doesn't interfere with family time. I usually take more "tops" so the pictures don't look like we are wearing the same clothes for the whole trip

we always pack light and plan on having a pool day mid way the week and then i do laundry while we sit at the pool...I love doing it the night again before we leave if we are back at the pool....nice coming home with all CLEAN clothes

I almost always do laundry on vacation, even if it isn't at WDW! It's easier to pack lighter and doing it isn't hard if you've got some pool time scheduled. And add me to the list of those who love coming home with clean clothes!

I used to pack enough clothes for the whole trip, before we were DVC members. I have been spoiled with the in room washer and dryer. We went to DL and stayed at the DLH in July and I did laundry once mid week then again before we left. My Dh loves having less bags to carry and I love comming home with clean clothes.

Wow, we've never done laundry on a trip. We cloth diaper, and I plan on bringing disposables for our 2 week trip coming up because I don't want to wash them while we're on vacation (plus you don't know what's lurking in those machines and I don't want to ruin my diapers).

Take jean shorts and jeans because they match everything, so you can get away with just a few pairs of those, one or two hoodies in case of a chill, and then tons of shirts, plus you will want to buy shirts there. I guess we also pack with the plan to buy clothes while we are there. Disney has everything, literally. One day on the way to Disneyland our dd got car sick, and I didn't have an extra outfit in the car, so we bought her an entire set of clothes, including panties and socks when we got there. It is absolutely her most expensive outfit (well over $100), but she loves it still. So you can always buy anything you need.

To keep the suitcases to a minimum I always pack enough for half the trip and do laundry mid-way through.

Plus, one year, we had one child (then 1 YO) who had some stomach issues...we did A LOT of wash that trip

We did laundry three times on our last trip (14 days). The laundry rooms are usually near the pool, so you can throw your wash in, hang out at the pool for 30 minutes, transfer to the dryers, head back to the pool, then do your folding. We packed a laundry bag and hung it in the closet. It gave us a place to get the dirty clothes off the floor, and a convenient way to get the laundry to and from the laundry room.

Seeing how convenient it was to get wash done, we'll be able to cut an entire suitcase out next trip.

If you do think you'll be washing there, pack dry detergent and dryer sheets in your luggage. It's expensive there, and easy to carry with you. Rather than dealing with bleach, I packed some Oxi, too. I pre-measured everything out into sandwich bags, then sealed the whole lot in a freezer bag.

I have planned to do laundry all three trips I've taken with kids. I've packed detergent, dryer sheets, etc. every trip and have never done laundry. Even the trip we took that we went back to the room EVERY day for a couple hours for kids to nap I still never bothered to actually do laundry! A toddler's clothes are so small you might as well just pack extras and skip the laundry chore on your vacation! Of course, everyone might not hate doing laundry as much as I do.

I do laundry when I go. Usually we go for 8 days & I do laundry twice.

We shower in the am & put on clean clothes & then we go back to our room for pool time/rest time & usually we shower again but even if we don't we like to get out of our stinky sweaty clothes (think summer in Florida) & put on something fresh.

We usually do our laundry during our mid-day break.

I think on my next trip I may do laundry every day because the more you have the longer it takes to dry. Plus we are a family of 5 now & were a family of 4.

And yes we bring our own detergent & dryer sheets.

OK, I know this is going to sound funny, but I actually like to do laundry while at WDW.

I do it mid week so I can pack less; very important since we drive. And I do it again at the end of the trip so I'm not bringing back a bunch of dirty clothes. It's hard enough to adjust to being back home that I don't want to do any extra work when I get home. That's also why I don't leave without the house being spotless. I'm tired and I don't want to come home and start cleaning.

I did laundry on the second or third day there. dd 3 was having some issues using the bathroom and when we left for the parks I alway had there bathing suit on under there cloths so she ran out of bathing suits also my bathsuit was giving be a rash on my upper thighs, no sure what it was but after I washed it was fine. I plan on doing laundry again on my next trip, but will bring my own soap.

In my experience, you have to run the dryers at least twice to get the clothes dry. They aren't very good. I've begun to dry them once and then finish hang drying them in the room (closet). I try not to have to wash what we need immediately. Also, breaking the clothes up into smaller dryer loads might help--although, mine aren't very big loads.

One thing I do is wake up early one morning. Go down, throw the clothes into the wash, head up stairs, shower/get ready. Go back down and throw the clothes into the dryer. Get a cup of coffee and have some time to myself. Of course, we don't get up early to hit the parks--have found it is MUCH better to let the kids wake up naturally. And sometimes that's early and sometimes that's not.

Yes for sure, last year we stayed 13 nights, I did not want to pack that much of course so we did laund. 2 times, it was near one of the quiet pools, so we swam , and waited for our laud. so no time wasted!
