Is it possible to stay at any one of the Disney resorts for 6 nights plus get park hoppers for under $1000.00 (family of 4)

Not including transportation & food.

Any suggestions or ideas?

Thanks

First of all, welcome!

The first place you should go is to the "codes & discounts" tab at the top of the resorts board.

Several people there have posted that they got a rate of $35/night for POP Century. You can be on the lookout for cheap deals...I think the $35/night deal was through Orbitz, so you may want to check that website too.

You could also stay off site (I know, that's like using foul language on this board)...but if you wanted to go this route you could surely do it for less than a thousand.

Good luck planning!

Unfortunately not. At a very minimum w/ park hoppers for 2 adults and 2 children (ages 3-9) 6 day tickets w/ hoppers is $976.

If you drop the hopper option your tix go down to $796.

You could plan to have tickets for 5 days and spend some time exploring your hotel and DTD but that will only save you a little bit. ($788)

The least you can get a general public on disney property room in value season @ value hotel w/ additional promo has been $59/night (this year). You may be able to get an off property hotel much cheaper or check those on hotel row near downtown.

Sorry it's just not possible. There are many ways to save money but w/ a family of 4 tickets alone are going to be a big portion of your trip cost.

the best I found was in Sept - 6 nights at Pop with 6 day tickets (not park hoppers)

the kids were age 2 and infant

$1,020.48

have you consider camping?

fw campground. you bring a tent or pop up camper

sept - this includes park hopper

$848.18 - still includes 2 adults +plus 2 kids - kids ages 2 and infant

Thank you for the quick replies. My children will be 5 & 2 when we go to Disney n 2009. I appreciate all of the great information - very helpful.

Well now that I know that my budget is unrealistic for a family of 4 - I'll bump up our budget to something more realistic

Thanks again!

You should be ok with your 2 year old being free! Also depends on when you are going. Since your kids are young, you might want to be flexible and go during value season and they will usually have better rates and any codes will be off of the value season rates. I dont' think you will have to bump your budget too much since your second child will be free!

Read all you can about the discounts and how they work. You might get some great Pixie Dust! Just don't give up and not go!!!

ok if you have a member of armed forces who can book you a vacation room it costs them through a program I wont mention but they will know about it if you have such a member it costs $200 per week. These are usually in VC property so they'll have kitchenette. This family member can also buy your park tickets for you at military discount price. so all in all you'll be doing food out of pocket but with a kitchenette you can eat in. I think its doable I dont know that I would find it fun personally just because I love the whole eating out and not being responsable for cleaning durring vacation but it can be done.

Good luck

I'm having enough trouble keeping our 3 night stay with 4 of us under a thousand even without the park hoppers!

I am helping an active duty member plan his family's WDW vacation and have not heard of this program. Could you please PM me with the details? It would really help his budget. Thanks.

Remember the 2 yr old will be almost 4 yrs --If you plan to go in "2009" -- If I read correctly--- Have a Garage Sale a few times---- Make Tuna Casseroles .. You can up the Budget and enjoy -- Whenever you go ---:wizard:

Excuse me ---- Sorry I re-read your Question --- opps The ages we're "2009? MY BAD

in 2008 - staying at Pop for 6 nights, 6 day tickets with park hoppers for 2 adults, 2 kids (2 & 5) - is $1,358.16 - - I would add 8% increase for 2009. (only expecting a 6% increase - but better to have more than need it) so $1,466.81. so I would try to put aside $1,500.

this is for Sept. - since your kids aren't in school - other times will be more expensive.

Do any of your credit cards have a reward program? Airmiles (here in canada & I assume there are many similiar programs in the usa) offer a 5 day park ticket for 2100 pts or so and with that long you may be able to accumlate enough to get a ticket..it's worth looking at.

Also look into if you have a reward system for cash back that you could use for vacation savings etc. Have fun planning!

I think its very doable if you go during value season. this past December my family of four stayed at a value for 7 days 7 nights for around $1200 and one of my children is considered adult (11) and the other was five so we paid for her. Also get a Disney Visa card (even if you never use it) it saved us $200 on this particular trip.

To the OP, I would decide what time of year you plan to go and then use the prices you will find here or on WDW site to do 'mock-up' trips. You can plan your Disney vacation at the hotel you want and with the number of days of tickets you want and at least get an idea. Then you can work backwards to see where you might cut. Cutting back on days for a hopper isn't a money-saver after you get 4 days in-- a 7 day Hopper is only an increase of $7.45 per adult, $4.26 per child over a 4-day Hopper--total, not per day! However, choosing non-hoppers vs hoppers will save you $47.92 per adult and per child for the any length of stay. I chose not to get Hoppers for our next trip since I will save $200. I can always upgrade there if I really have to hop, but I think I will plan around it to save the $ even though I'm not watching my budget. I just hate thinking I may pay the $$ and then NOT hop!!

Look at menus and see what you think you might spend on meals-- I personally think it is a better deal not to do the DDP for us, but you may get to take advantage of a free dining code sometime also.

So take some time (when you can spare it with 2 little ones!) and play around on the Disney sites and see what you can come up with that fits your idea of a fun trip! I agree with others that I'd rather cut back somewhere else to do the trip "right". I haven't been since 1984 except for one day and our next trip will be a blow out for us, but worth every penny!

Good luck!

Just FYI - we're a family of 5, but one is still 2, so free :cool1:

We're going for 6 days/5 nights, at ASMo, 6 day park tickets (base, not hoppers). Total package was $1,128, but I had $260 on my Disney Visa, so paid $868. Hoppers would add, I think, $170, so we'd be just over $1,000. I love my Disney Visa - it has probably saved us $1,000 in our last 3 trips....

This was a fall deal that was offered back in Aug/Sept, and I think it works out to the room being $49/night.

Have a great time!!!!
