Is it possible to switch reservation

from one member to another? We're trying to figure out the best way to combine points with my in-laws to stay in a GV at OKW next October. OKW is their home resort, so they would be able to book at the 11 month window.

We will not have enough points to transfer to them to cover our share of the points, and I know you can't transfer borrowed points. What I'm wondering is, if they make the reservation using their points, could one of us call at the 7 month window and just ask that some of the days be switched to our account so we could use borrowed points?

I'm guessing we can't, because who would call? They wouldn't have the authorization to use our account, and I wouldn't have the authorization to cancel their reservation. Boy, this sounds confusing! Does anyone know how this would work?

You could only switch to your points if there was availability at the 7 month mark. If there's a waitlist, then you can't.

I assume your home resort is not OKW? Technically, they could not use any of your transferred points at the 11 month mark. Sometimes points do turn over to the home resort of the receiving member through a computer glitch. I would talk to member services before any transfer.

Why not rent OKW points that are transferable....

And rent out yours to defer the cost.

Or maybe someone will trade?

Where is your resort, and what is your UY?

We'll probably look into trading, I just figured if we could keep it in the family it might be a little easier. Of course, my MIL is still gets confused with how many points she has, how many are banked, etc. (and she's been a member since '92!)

Our home resort is VWL with an August use year.
