Is it possible to eat organic at Disney World?

The Wave is probably your best bet for organic food. It would be difficult to eat every meal there though. ;)

Am I right in thinking that all the produce served at Garden Grill is grown at the Land pavillion? And, that it is grown organically? :confused3

It is "much", not all, of the produce from the greenhoiuse is used at the Garden Grille. And, yes, that is definitely organic (or at least no chemical pesticides).

As far as general restaurants, the answer would probably be no. The majority of the food served at WDW comes from general commercial food sources. If you had specific allergies you could probably be accommodated.

And according to the Behind the Seeds tour that I took in january, a lot of the food is actually NOT grown in the greenhouses. Most of the greenhouse food is being grown to break world records or something like that, so by the time they harvest them, they aren't edible and they just convert them to compost. :confused3 Not the answer I expected...we all made sure to ask a few times to make sure we heard right.

It's not possible to eat oeganic at Disney - I have been eating organic since February and have been to Disney a few times (local) and have asked, read every menu, and looked at every possible option. There is no way - Disney responded in a FAQ somewhere that they can't do organic because it isn't cost effective.

I basically lived on peanut butter sandwiches I brought with me. I had to choose a food group to go non organic on and I decided I could do cheese pizza in an emergency so I ate that a few times so I woudn't starve.

Be prepared to either eat "normal" foods, eat non-organic veggies, eat kosher meals, or bring your own food.

Even the Wave isn't organic - some things are local but not verified as organic except beer and wine.

If it's not marked "organic" (like some but nowhere near all of the items at the Wave are) I think you can pretty much assume that it's not organic. I think it would be very difficult if not impossible to eat all organic at WDW restaurants.

I would say that if you bought all your own food and did all your own cooking in your resort, then that's the only way you could eat organic at Disney. Good luck.
