Originally we had booked CRT(7:00 pm), Dessert Party and wanted to do the parade, so now I've kept the Dessert Party at 8:35 , and put CRT on a different night but could only get a res for 8:40....so when are we better off trying to see the parade or shld we just skip CRT ?
It is just dh and I so no kids to have to get through crowds if that matters, and we're there on Mon and Wed last week of Sept, first week of Oct.

I think you'll have a hard time making it to CRT. MSEP is about 20 minutes long, so you'll have to be at the very start of the parade route. Then you'd have to hustle through the crowds to get to CRT...especially because they ask you arrive about 15 minutes before your ADR time.

What if we used a fp for the parade which would put us right near the castle ? Does the parade pass by there early enough for that to work ?

Honestly, I don't think you'll have a problem. Just situate yourself as close to the castle as possible. While they ask that you arrive 15 minutes early, they aren't going to give your reservation away if you arrive on time or a few minutes late.

I went back and looked at the times on my photos and we watched it from by Liberty Tree Tavern. The parade reaches us about 8 minutes after the parade started and finished up about 15 minutes later. So the last float passed us around 8:25 pm. (The parade was coming from Main Street.). So if you had a spot near the castle and bolted as soon as the last float came into view, I think you might make it to CRT before your ADR time comes up.

I've read that the grace period tends to be between 5 and 15 minutes depending on the CM. I've been at BoG and hear the check-in CM tell a guest they were 16 minutes late so they were now considered at walk-up (yes, the CM said 16 minutes).

If anything be close to the castle during MSEP and have one member of your party check in... We did this once when we had a ADR to Crystal Palace, while somebody went to smoke they called our table, since our whole party wasn't there they gave us a 15 min grace period.

Maybe CRT is different, but several of the resturants I've been to would not let guests check-in until their entire party was present.

Just make sure you get your spot early enough that you can be right up near the castle and you will make it in time.

The Fastpass area for MSEP is right in front of the castle. I don't think you'd have any problems making it on time.:tink:
