If so, what would be needed, and is there a tutorial on how to do it? At least one in my group could probably understand what needs to be done.

Or, can you still get movies to watch in room? Interested in Ratatouille. I am not sure my friends will have seen it.

I have an older Ipad and it only has the one port for the charger. But perhaps the charger can be inserted into a TV port? Can you try it on a tv at home?
Edited to add: just noticed the second part of your question. I know the one bedrooms in BWV still have DVD player and you can still get movies from community hall. For some reason I think the studios don’t have them any more. And not sure about the other resorts. Maybe they will have it on for movie night at your resort. Such a cute movie.

Not sure if there's a tutorial, but we bought a Roku Stick when we visited RIV in August. From your iPad, open whatever app you'd like and go to Screen Mirroring on your iPad and select the Roku stick. You can probably search for Screen Mirroring on how to get to it.

I have a dongle to connect my Ipad to an HDMI cord and then that can be connected to an HDMI port on a TV. The specific dongle will depend on what sort of connection your Ipad has, Mine was a lightening connection and here's a description of how it's done. But again it depends on what port your Ipad has. How To Connect iPad To TV with HDMI (A Complete Guide) - Joy of Apple At least I assume they still make the dongles to do this.

(the links in the post above mine were slow to load but I see they are what I am referencing :) )

I was able to screen mirror my iPad directly to the tv’s at riviera but not any other resort. Otherwise you need an adapter to attach to an hdmi to the tv. I had one and lost it. When I went to find a new one on Amazon they were pricey. I just ended up buying a fire stick and have used it at 4 different resorts so far, no problem.
But since I’m guessing you are at a resort right now, your best bet is to call down and request a DVD player if there isn’t one in your room and borrow the movie from community hall.
Hope you have a great time!

We are able to do it at home ( it’s DH who does it…I’m going to be with friends which is why I asked) , so, I have to carefully read all you are suggesting !! Thank you for getting back to me.

Please help someone old and tech-challenged what I need to bring from home to connect a Prime Firestick to Disney resorts (BCV, BLT, CCF). Want to watch Prime & Hulu while there and never did before because it sounded complicated. I know what an HDMI cord is, surprisingly 8). I also know what a dangle (dongle?) is (again surprisingly) and hope you can tell me if I need anything other than a plug in cord for the Stick combo. Do I need to bring an extension cord?

Can't begin to thank you enough if you're willing to answer the questions.
DH is ZERO techie, so that kinda says it all.

All you need is the cord that comes with the fire stick. Plug the stick into the back of the tv, plug the cord into the fire stick and into an outlet. The cord is just to connect the fire stick to power. Switch the tv source to hdmi and your fire stick menu should pop up on the tv.
Hope this helps!

Holy Cow...I do that at home! I think I can do at Disney! I was afraid everything was configured totally different,

It was so kind of you to reply Thank you very much I definitely will do when there 2 weeks in January. Just got back and didn't even attempt. DH kept saying we won't be able to do. I shouldn't have listened.

Thanks again.

I don’t think any of the Lightning to HDMI adapters will work for Disney+ because they don’t mirror copy protected apps.
We tried the Apple one a few years ago and found it didn’t work with MLBtv

that description even says “Due to HDCP copyright protection measures, the lightning to HDMI adapter doesn’t work with some paid content including Netflix, Amazon Video, DIRECTV, HULU, and other App which need to be paid fee.”

If you have a Samsung phone (and likely a Samsung tablet- haven't tried that yet), you can easily mirror/cast to the Samsung TVs with SmartView. We do it every trip so the kids can watch D+ or Netflix when it rains, etc.

I used to bring an old Apple TV, but it will no longer connect to the Wifi at most of the resorts. I'm not sure what will work now.

The TVs at Rivera and Destino Tower have built in streaming capability, but no other resorts yet.

That's odd. I do it almost every trip including this past October. I often stream Paramount+ (every night we sleep to it) and Disney+.

WHY don't we have Disney+ in the rooms already?!?!?!

Ok! I sent this thread to my friend and she’s pretty sure she can do it! Thanks to all of you for information!

We bring an old roku and connect that to the tv, the only issue we have is that some of the tvs do not pull far enough away from the wall for you to easily connect the wires.
