Is it possible to add days to tickets already linked to MDE (purchased from Undercover Tourist)?

I know it's a better financial deal to wait until we've used the tickets once and then go to Guest Service to add days. The problem with that is that we will not be able to get FP+ 60 days out for more days than we have purchased. Originally we were planning for seven days in the parks. Now we will be there ten days. I really want those FP+ all taken care of!! Is there any way to add days? Is it something I can do by calling Disney? Thanks!

1. No need to use tickets before upgrading.

2. Nope. Sorry.

Have you already LINKED your UT tickets to your MDE account (or opened the sealed packet?)
If not, it might be possible to return the tickets to UT and buy larger tickets.

I thought the wisdom on these boards was that while you don't need to wait to upgrade them that if you wanted the full current value of your ticket (not what you paid, perhaps, years ago) you need to wait until after you've used the ticket once. Anyway...I linked the tickets almost a year ago.

Robo, tell me what you think of this strategy. If I can't upgrade until my arrival, what if I choose the seven most important days of my visit to book FP+? In other words, if I can live without let's say any FP+ my day at DHS then I could book days where the FP+ are more important to me. Is that possible? I don't think my days have to be consecutive. TIA!

This is exactly what I would do.

That information was extremely common. It was also incorrect since at least one year ago. Price bridging - getting credit for the gate price of a discounted ticket - depends on the cast member knowing what they're doing, whether the ticket has been used or not. The procedure to do it is exactly the same either way.

Your proposed strategy is also what I would do if I were in your situation.

on a similar note, what if we purchased tickets directly from Disney (but not as part of a package), and then one person ended up not being able to come on this year's trip...would that ticket work the same as the UT tickets, if we save it for next year's trip? so could we only add days to it in person, even though it was bought from Disney? And if we know we'll stay longer next year, can we bring it with us this year & upgrade it for next year, or do we need to wait until we get there next year? TIA!

1. That can be done.
2. There are a few isolated reports of guests getting tickets re-issued by calling Disney Ticketing Guest Services, however...
3. Yes, you can do that, so no need to stress over it.
4. Nope.

OP, I would totally do (and will be doing for our September trip because we purchased from UT as well and need to add 2 days once we get there). Get your most important days taken care of at 60 days and then at 30 days make your lesser important FP+ reservations for the remaining days. We will be upgrading our tickets at guest relations when we arrive.

1. Yes. This.
2. I don't understand this statement.
If a guest does not have additional valid tickets, no additional FP+ reservations can be made.

Instead of starting a new ticket question thread, I'm going to piggyback off of this one.

I'm set to go to disney in october. I purchased a 5 day base ticket from disney before the price jump. After planning my days, I am realizing I want a 7 day park hopper. I know I can upgrade when I get there, but I would like to upgrade before that so I can plan my FP+

Here's my question:
My parents are going to disney in three weeks. Is it possible for me to give them both my tickets and have them upgrade them while they're down there?
