I know I am new to the thread, and haven't even experienced my AKL time yet, I fully admit that I haven't read the last 4 pages, but I just need a little place to vent and you all seem so great.

So I never took a vacation without my kids when they were little, no babysitters, and the such. So after 20 years I get to book my dream vacation. I figure DD is 18 and in college, she will be okay watching DS15 high honors student in a Jesuit school. DH never get sick, I am always the one sick. I change my lifestyle, rest, do my best.

This week, DH gets his first ever very bad cold/sinus infection - whatever!! So he goes to Dr's tomorrow, hoping he can still fly. I have an autoimmune so I have been avoiding him, which is hard when you have to make plans together.

Responsible DD decides it time to rebel - nothing bad, don't get me wrong, but enough to just go past my limits. And I am leaving DS with her, and the the CAR!!

DS has a retreat the day before we leave and I think he is getting cold feet along with a warm forehead (fever from Dad - nice - NOT) about going.

So now after 20 years, I should be buying some cute little number to WOW DH and I just want to curl up in my sweats.

So Is it possible to get away, forget the worries and enjoy WDW without bringing the kids no matter their age?? Please reassure me!!!

I'm guessing you wouldn't have planned to go in the first place if you didn't think the kids could handle it...so GO and have a great time!! If DH is at the doctor today, and from the looks of your ticker you have 5 days before you go, hopefully he gets some good antibiotics and they will have kicked in by then. DS can handle his own fever - he is old enough. Try not to worry too much and have a wonderful birthday!!

Okay, thanks for all the calm down posts. They helped. I went out and bought two very "WOW" outfits. They definitely would have been more WOW at my weight when we married, , but I have a great DH and I am sure he will be thrilled.

Doctor gave DH steroids and an antibiotic, and the same for me. I came down with it early today, but most likely mine is viral because I have a flaming hot sore throat. I am hoping it will be gone in the am. The meds will keep it from going any further.

DS is getting excited about his retreat, so that should be good, and I took DD out to dinner tonight for one on one time and "adult" talk. She really is a great young lady and I know I am fine.

Now just to get the packing done, and off we goooooo!!!

Hello Everyone,
I'm thinking about staying in a studio at AKV, but I'm a little worried about the sleeper sofa. I have two boys 8 & 4 they will be sharing it for five days.

Has anyone tried it and had a good night sleep?

Well I have slept on it a few times either with DD7 or DS5 and the two boys should be fine. The sleeper sofa is not that bad. All three of my kids have even slept in it and not complained.

Room 2541 was in the corner..at the end of the east side..very close to the room we had last month...I guess the pen outside the room is why it is considered "standard" but it was quiet and we had so many animals..all the time!
