We did Discovery Cove 2 years ago and it was well worth it. They only allow up to 1000 people a day. I doubt it even gets that crowded. Continental Breakfast and a hot lunch. Unlimited drinks. Beer, Juice, coffee. Everything is included. Did the dolphin swim. My son loved it. They provide sunscreen, lotion and any toiletries you may need. Took a nice shower before heading out. Stood amongst the stingrays. Swam in the reef. It was so beautiful. Went to the bird aviary and fed the birds. they fly on your arm when you have a cup full of food in your hand. Took almost 250 pics. I purchased photos and video of the dolphin experience. Its like photo pass. Take as many pictures as you want and they add it to your photo package.

Were the showers locker room style....meaning you change out of wet bathingsuits and put clothing back on, dry your hair, etc?

.....ZD's for EVERYBODY!!!

Great pictures Kim!!! Perfect dessert after lunch. ;)

...just back - dr said that he COULD operate (because of the break) but it wouldn't heal any better or faster than if he left it alone....so, keep the arm immobile for at least a week or two....no phys ed till Nov 1 and he goes back in 3 weeks for another x-ray to make sure the bone is healing properly...

Glad to hear NO SURGERY! :yay: I hope all the healing goes well.

CAn we just wander over and look at the AKV?

Yep! It's a beautiful resort! I love that there are DVC rooms at both the Lodges too. :thumbsup2

OK, welll I feel a little better about the busses. We aren't even going to Epcot this trip because of Food & Wine (short trip, we'll hit Epcot another time), so is giving myself an hour to get to RD at DHS & AK enough time in October?

I think one hour should be plenty for both parks. AK is literally a 5 minute drive, it feels like you leave the parking area of AKL and suddenly you are at AK. It's VERY short. DHS is a bit further, but 1 hour should still be plenty.

We stayed at Kidani last trip, but the buses were always prompt. We were there during NYE's week - the busiest week of the year - and the buses were packed almost always. However, it was rare when Kidani filled the bus alone - there were often seats left when we got to Jambo.

So I've been looking for posts/pics of the Uzima and Sunset Savannahs and have found some posts from 2009 that there were zebras on the Sunset Savannah...but there are no zebras on Sunset anymore, correct? Zebras are only on Arusha, right?

Actually, since Sunset Savanna is the main savanna for Kidani, there are lots and lots of animals on that Savanna! :thumbsup2 Definitely giraffes, zebras, ostriches, water bucks, wildebeest. (that's all I can remember for sure off the top of my head!! :headache:) LOL I have no idea how many you can see from a Jambo room, but they're definitely on Sunset Savanna! :thumbsup2

Okapi and Nyala are on the Pembe Savanna - which is located near the Kidani pool. You should take a walk over that way to see them! (oh, they had red river hogs on Pembe too in June!) :goodvibes

Kim - glad your son doesn't need surgery...hopefully he'll heal up just perfect! :goodvibes

Awww, that's adorable, Brandi!! :goodvibes Thanks for sharing!

Yes, it's OK - this thread has been known to stray OT from time to time!! Actually, your video is more on-topic than the baseball discussion which is bound to come up soon as the YANKEES are currently tied for first, 5-1/2 games up on Boston!!! :woohoo: (there's a little Yankees/BoSox rivalry here! ;))

Now if I remember correctly, the lockers were outside of the bathroom. They were small lockers but large enough to put your belongings. You had to put away all of your jewlery. If you don't want to put on a wetsuit, you could just put on the safety vest. It was comical trying to squeeze in that thing.:rotfl:

The showers had stalls next to one another. Enough privacy.

what is the cost of the pic pass thing at DC?
thanks:thumbsup2

If my memory serves right I think everything came out to around $225.00?

I had the video of dolphin swim, pictures on a disc, about 6 printed pictures and a couple of key chains. That is why we chased the photographers around and had them take pictures of us everywhere.:lmao:

Cool glad I did not break any rules. Yet :) I am. Sure I will in the future I always do.

Anyway, I am a Braves fan so I have not had much post season luck but a fan of baseball all around.

Since we are so far away we go to Nats and Os games to see anybody play.

Did you have to go and bring up the Yankees/Sox rivalry?
You all know where I'm from right?
Whyd ya pahk ya cah so fah from the bah...Say it very slowly:rotfl2:

We lost Chipper for the season so I'm not feeling as confident for Bobby's last year. :sad1:

Those pictures are great! Your son is adorable! :goodvibes

View of the stadium? Lucky lady!! I'm a Bergen County NJ girl (and you know how you can take the girl out of Jersey but you can't take Jersey out of the girl -- oh so true!!! :rotfl:) My DH HATES the Yankees -- but then he's from South Dakota so what does he know?!!! :rotfl2:

OK, now back to AKL/AKV! ;)

About 4 hours ago we bought into DVC and our first stay at "home" will be in Kidani(sp?) at AKL in 45 days. We just this morning paid off our original trip this morning and that was at POR. A few hours later we were on the phone with DVC with our cc buying in ! AKL looks amazing.........Theres a gizillion pages of info...Whew:surfweb:

Your DS is adorable!!!! Great Pics - Thanks for sharing!! :goodvibes

Thank you. He is a sweet kid. Now 10. Has an appetite for days. Had to book all buffets for next week's trip. When we went in May he was a little upset that all the TS meals weren't buffet. :rotfl:
