Question for you guys:

I emailed AKL to inquire about rooms for my reservation and in the email they told me they didn't have me down for any dinner reservations. I have made all my ADRS on the Disney website and have my list reservations. I also called and made a reservation for the wayama safari so I don't know why the email stated that I did not have any reservations. I responded that I made reservations and gave my reservation numbers.

Does this mean I don't have any reservations? Has this happened to anyone else? I'm worried:sad1:

Kimmar: Don't make us beg!!!! :rotfl:

....I'm kinda partial to begging, 'specially when SOMEONE ELSE is doin' it...:teeth:

[...sorry for not being on the DIS as much as I'd like - I was signed up for a teacher's workshop at WPU , which ran Mon-Fri from 8AM to 4:30PM , as well as next week too...my brain is still on 'overload'...]

Hey Bestie! Who you callin' a loon?

...interesting, uhhhhh, HAT you got there....

Attention Bostonians:laughing:

I was being naughty and looking @ airfare again, which I have no business doing, as you all know that financially, things aren't great. HOWEVER, I saw $79 airfare BOS-MCO:eek: And we have air miles, we wouldn't even have to pay it. But as you know last month, we got decent airfare and used miles and went for 3 days. I want to do it again:rotfl:
Looks like for now, I have to turn it down, but I wanted to let you all know in case someone here can take advantage of it.:flower3:

Don't Worry - You are fine!!! So, long as you have your resv. #'s - if you ARE worried, just log on to the disney website and put in your dining resv. # and it'll show up - IF for some reason it doesn't, then be worried!!! LOL --- Also, when you made your ADR's - you should've gotten email confirmation as well - I always get a confirm email........... I'm guessing that you didn't book a "package"??? That may be why your dining isn't showing up in thier system. But, I'm sure you are fine! BTW - have you been to the lodge before?? You'll love it!

Are zebra domes just available at dinner in Boma's or can you purchase them during the day also?

I do get confirmation emails from Disney.com. I'm just being anal about this trip. I contacted AKL and they updated their system, I believe we purchased a package, booked everything through Disney. But I called as opposed to booking the resort and what not.

Never been there, never been to Disney.

Well, since you have confirm emails - then you are fine - no worries. Also, if you booked everything seperate, even though you did it through Disney - then you probably don't have a package - either way though......... you are fine with your dining ADR's. As for the lodge, well, you picked an amazing place for your first time!! You will LOVE LOVE LOVE the lodge, it is amazing - we love it so much we bought DVC there!!! If you have specific questions you need answered, just ask away - everyone here is amazing and some of us have known each other for years - it's a very friendly place!!!

On a side note - check out my DISign thread - see if there is anything you'd like - and if so, make a request on my thread!!! Since it's your first time you might be interested in some of my stuff.

Wendy, I absolutely LOVE your invitations! I will definitely be requesting some as our trip gets closer! Such a great idea...I wish I had found these sooner!

Never been there, never been to Disney.

I wish you the most magical trip ever!!!!! :wizard: Be sure to get "First Trip" buttons when you check in. If the Cast Member does not give them to you automatically, ask for them. ::yes:: Magical things can happen with those buttons sometimes.

And I whole heartily agree, WONDERFUL pick of AKL for your first time at Disney! It was our first trip place as well...we fell for Disney H-A-R-D. We are now proud owners in Disney's Vacation Club and about to go on our 6th trip in 4 years. (and planning 2 or 3 more for 2011 :rolleyes1)

Keep those confirmation numbers handy just in case. It doesn't happen often, but it DOES happen where ADRs are lost. If you have the number, they will find you and you'll be fine! :goodvibes

We are staying at AKL for a quick Christmas trip! :thumbsup2 I bought our MVMCP tix today! We are going to the party on the 5th of Dec.
I've heard AKL Jambo house lobby is gorgeous at Christmas time and I can't wait to see it!!!

I have a question about the safes in the rooms, we will be staying in a standard pool view room, will the safe fit a 15" laptop?
We staying at the Poly in October and I asked the same question about the safes there. LOL
It stinks that I have to bring my laptop with me on vacation, but what can ya do? :confused3

TIA:flower3:

Witchesbrew, Yes, for both AKL and Poly the safes will fit your laptop. At least it held mine (same size) on our last trip in 2006. You have to put it in standing on it folded or hinged part, they are not big enough to fit it flat or longways. Does that make sence?

We were able to fit our camera, laptop, money in wallet, and important papers without any problem.:thumbsup2

Hi, all. My family and I are proud new DVC owners with AKL as our home. We have never been to the Animal Kingdom Lodge, and are planning our first trip there for next August. Because I banked our points, we are able to splurge for our trip.

I would like honest opinions, should I try 1 bedroom concierge? Should I try the one bedroom in Kidani Village (savannah view)? I am leaning towards concierge because it would truly be the only time we would ever be able to stay concierge. What are the views like in concierge?

Obviously I am seriously confused. I have been trying to read up on AKL as much as I could.

But some honest opinions and advice would be appreciated. I don't even know about the different areas of savannah view! I am truly a newbie here.

Thanks to all my expert friends.

Lisa
