Just curious if anyone thinks there is a remote possibility that I would be able to do DW with just myself and my 3 kids (ages-2.5,3.5,&5). My DH may not be able to get off of work to go but my older 2 will be highly disapointed if we don't go. They've already made a count down chain and everything!

Hard to say. I guess it would really depend on the children. If I had three like my own DS - no problem. However, if I had three like my own DD - no way. I would be frazzled by the end of day two. If your kids get along well and are well behaved I think you would be fine.

A friend of mine did part of her trip with 4 kids (2 her own, 2 her sisters). What was amazing is that when the CMs at Fantasmic saw her struggling to get in with a stroller and all the kids they immediately rushed to her help and sat her in a great section that had been roped off. Plus, it was only about 10minutes until the show so she didn't have to wait a long time.

I'll be there alone with my three children (10 y/o DS, 9 y/o DD and 6 y/o DD). The three of them fight like cats and dogs!!!! I keep telling myself I must be nuts, but then I think (and pray!) that the Disney magic will hit 'em and it will be a WONDERFUL vacation. We'll be at the ASMo 6/21 - 6/25!!!

Just tossing in my 2 cents.........at such young ages...plan on taking breaks from the parks during the day ideally for a swim, lunch and "hopefully" a nap.....oh yeah...the kids might benefit from a nap also!!!

Good luck....I fear you will need it....but I'm sure you all will have a great time and make lots of memories!!!!

PS....if you feel that you will need any assistance at all...I will be happy to take time off work and accompany you...just let me know where to pick up my passes and airline tix!!!

Here's a question for you - when you go someplace as a family do you do all the work, watching the kids, discipline etc. or do share this responsibility with DH? If you are used to doing things with your kids "solo" w/out DH then you should be fine taking the kids alone.

I am a single Mom and am used to doing things alone, heck even when I was married I still did most of it alone ;) . My DS 6 DD 8 and I take annual trips to WDW and it is the best vacation for us. However it can be tiring when you are doing it alone. If you think the kids will be able to get along and you won't be totally exhausted, remember it is your trip too, then I say go for it.

Boy, can I relate Bobcat. I am married, but I feel like I'm always twisting arms to get DH to share responsibility.

In terms of rest time, I think that is important for the younger set. However, swimming is one time I don't feel comfortable with 2 kids and no help from DH. I'm sure that once one of them swims without assistance, this will no longer be an issue.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone! Fortunately, he is getting off but it will be unpaid vacation time...I just can't beleive Memorial Day is not considered a HOLIDAY!! Oh well, no complaints..at least he is going!! My biggest fear was how to get luggage to the room and park the car with 3 kids! Luckily, I don't have to worry anymore!!

I'm sure you can do it! I went in January without my DH and the kids were 14 months & almost 3. Take it slow and expect lots of problems. I have never met so many friendly and helpful people in my entire life as I did at WDW on my trip with kids and no DH.

Good luck!

This is going to be a challenge for me! It will be just me and DD 2 and DS 4 going this Sept. And I am even braving to do the split stay!! Yikes!! But I am determined to do it! I'll just take it slow and go with the kids' pace.

I'm glad your hubby is now going. :) Have a wonderful time!

I took my DD5 and DS8 last year and am going again in June for five days. All of the posts that say take your time are right on target. Plan but be flexible and get the kids to compromise when they dont agree....so that both (three in your case) get to do all that they want. The more shows you can take in the better and bathroom breaks at the same time keep you from having to "hop" out of line at the worst time. Good luck and enjoy!!!!

The only problem I can see is strollers. YOu'll want one for your 5 year old too. It's a lot of walking for such a little one. Now that your hubby is going you can get a double and one single. I don't know how you'd do it without him.

Have fun!

Phew, I can't give advice, just wanted you to know that I give you two thumbs up for even considering doing it!! What a great mom you must be!!!
