Is it overkill to call and reconfirm your ADR's before you leave?

We have a party of 7 going for 7 days starting next weekend :cool1: I am so darn excited, but I do admit I am obsessing over details a bit and driving dh crazy. :lmao:

We made most of our adr's about 2 months ago, and I have tweaked them a few times.

Do you ever call before you leave to just reconfirm that they are all still okay or is that overkill??

TIA!!

Doing the happy dance here, 11 more days

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!

I just called to make some changes to the reservations I have for the trip in September and boy am I glad I did....The guy that made my reservations had them all wrong. I have a gap in the middle of our days, meaning I don't have a reservation with wdw that day because we are eating at Rainforest Cafe that night, and he messed up and booked all my reservations on the wrong days, a day earlier, not skipping the day in the middle.

Definitely confirm your reservations, at least once.

Kim

Thanks for the reply! So glad you figured it out before you got there! I will be calling for sure!

Don't call! The more times somebody pulls up your ADR's to look at them the more chances they will get messed up.

it's ok to call - i call 3 days before we leave to check, that way if anything is wrong there's still time to (hopefully) fix it - i don't call after initially making my ADRs....

Im dying to confirm but am afraid of this, someone pulling them up again & messig them up....I figure I have the confirm #s, what can happenpopcorn::

i try not to call- BUT as an A type i need to know all is well about a week before....they don't seem to mind, and i can relax a bit OR sometimes I have faith keep my confirmation #s and check with the concierge as SOON as i get there.....

I do it every trip, but....Wouldn't it be nice if you could go on line and check them yourself! Think of the manpower Disney could save if they didn't have people maning the phones so we could check and recheck ADR's.:confused3

I dont call because of the possibility that they will mess something up. Instead I check with the lobby concierge as soon as I arrive and have them print a copy of all of my ADRs. The one time there was a problem they were able to help me fix it upon arrival

I have never called to check on ADRs and everything has always been fine. But, if it gives you peace of mind, I don't see why not.

I also tend to check in with the concierge upon my arrival, as opposed to calling. The way I figure is if something is messed up, I would rather talk to people in person than on the phone to try to sort it out....

I never call - I assume once they give me my confirmation number they have done their job.

I do however always take the confirmation numbers with me and know when I made the reservation.

I have had several times that I have walked up to the podium and they couldn't find the reservation. I just stand there with my confirmation number and have always been seated.

That would be a great idea! :thumbsup2 You know that section the Disney website where you can look at your reservation information? They should have it there or something!

I always call a week before our trips, it gives me a peace of mind. Even if there is something messed up once you get to the podium, as long as you have that confirmation number (although you might have to wait a little longer...) they have to honor it. ;)

No, I don't think so. I do it every trip, because we've usually made some changes along the way.

I do call-once just before the trip. I think the risky thing to do is call frequently, with multiple, confusing changes.
Personally, if I were bringing a group of 7 I would absolutely make one call to make sure everything is set. (And I'd note who I talked to, date and time.)

I always call. I had one CM cancel an adr for Chef Mickeys on me once when I called to make a chance on another adr. Why they messed with Chef Mickeys I have no idea. It was about 2 weeks before we left that I called to confirm everything. I was so upset - it is a family tradition for us to eat dinner there our first night. Luckily after calling several times a day for a week I was able to snag a cancellation.

Definately call- they don't make changes when you are just calling to comfirm - so I don't see how they can mess something up. But then again - ya never know. ;)
