Ok, you two are evil pod people.I'm notoriously slow also. It takes me 20 mins to shower and brush teeth, then definitely 20 mins hair detail. I have short thick hair. hot curlers and styling definite 20 mins.
I'm a happy camper if I can get done in 1 hour, throw in a special occasion and I'm at 90 mins easy.
I have to get up on workdays @ 4:30 am to be out the house at 5:30.

) - plenty of time before I had to head out the door..
Have you tried Moroccan Oil for your hair? It's a life saver!
My daughter has kinky curly hair too. Looks good when it's wet but as soon as it starts to dry, it's a frizzy mess. Moroccan Oil has worked wonders for her. When she straightens it, it's silky smooth. The rare times she leaves it curly (almost never), the oil makes it look soft.
Some of you need better blow dryers, maybe?![]()
I LOVE my blowdryer!!! I don't use it to just dry my hair though. I dry AND straighten my hair with it so that adds time. the flat iron just smooths everything out and makes it nice and shiny and sleek. It also helps keep it straight for a longer time when I go out into the humidity.
I haven't tried it because my hair isn't frizzy, but I wonder if it might help in any way. I've thought about trying it..........
This morning because of this thread, I decided to make a note of how long it took. From the moment I put my contacts in while sitting on the edge of the bed, to the moment I walked downstairs completely ready to go, it was exactly 1 hour. No dawdling, no kids to take care of, didn't make my husband's lunch...just purely getting myself ready was one hour. I took my shower, brushed my teeth, put on my makeup, blow dried my hair, got dressed, put on perfume, and walked downstairs.
It may have taken me an hour but I feel a LOT better about myself than the days where I scrunch my hair with some gel and slap on two seconds of half hearted makeup. For me, it is worth it to get my day going in a manner where I feel pretty and confident. But, no one is waiting on me either. If no one is waiting on you, it shouldn't matter how long you take. Now if someone were waiting on me, I could NEVER take 2 hours like the OP's wife.
Takes me back a bit. My late father was a punctuality nut (and a bit of a domestic tyrant)--and no one kept him waiting. Ever. He was the lone male in the household with four women and only one complete bathroom (two powder rooms). We learned to move fast, we had a few minutes in the bathroom, and then we had better be out, or be able to shift to a powder room. By the time dad was ready to go someplace, everyone else had to be ready! It was a true feat of organization on my mother's part.
When it is time to leave, your "A.." had better be "In" "Seat" or you get left! Frank Barone's rule!!
It's interesting hearing everybody's hair needs. Mine is fine, straight & no volume (don't have that much) & FLAT. When I wake up it just looks scraggly. I shower at night, but I have to wet my hair down in the AM & blow dry just so it looks a little decent. I am the only person I know who LOVES my hair in the Florida humidity....it actually looks like it has volume & body.
I get it cut & colored every 6 weeks with an excellent stylist, but still can't do anything with it.
