Is it "odd" to buy 276 points?

Already there. I'm not interested in a whole bunch of tiny contracts, but have my order re-written to split it into 160 and 120. I figure that if I do want to sell some, 120 won't be difficult to sell IF I end up wanting to do that.

it's up to you but be aware that a couple of 60 pt contracts or 3 - 40 pt contracts might sell for a little more per pt and a little more quickly - largely because you'd have extra demand as your contracts would appeal to nonmembers who want to get in for less than $10,000 as well as "non-financers" who prefer to pay cash.

(it's also a benefit if you decide you have slightly too many points - then you can get rid of only 40 pts rather than having to sell 120 pts. this is a pretty rare situation, though.)

from a practical standpoint, the contracts will have the same UY month (and therefore the same banking deadlines) and if they have the same home resort, they will operate as one contract regardless.

if 160 and 120 works best for you, though, that's fine. just trying to provide more information.

Yes, I understand that, but I truly believe we're unlikely to sell and I'm more motivated by the prospect of having 2 pools of points to pass on to 2 family members. If we do sell, I guess I'm willing to take my chances with 120. But thanks for taking the time to point that out - even if it's not right for me, it may help someone else out!
