I understand what everyone is saying. We do have AP's so we can go a lot if we choose. In fact we may go twice this month. We don't know yet but we might......lol We do live 6 hrs away so it is a drive but for us it's worth it. We are going to take the girls with us this weekend, they want to go so we are all going! YAY!!!
so glad you are here with us today !

We have gone to WDW w/o DD before. She was only 1 and had no idea what she was missing. In 2006, I went to WDW on a ladies-only trip and had fun, but would have had more fun if I had left my guilt at home. I felt bad the whole trip and even shed a few tears. WDW is very far and we can afford to go every other year...so no more WDW without DD. It is our family vacation place. DLR, on the other hand, is somewhere I could go without DD and be fine with it. It is closer than WDW and more accessible. I will miss her tremendously and will probably buy her lots of goodies. Actually, I am going without her on June 6-8 and plan on spoiling her with princess stuff that I get her while I am there.
I'm in Sac, not too far away
Our kids are all grown up but DH and I still can't seem to unload the guilt and go without them!![]()
Of course i will admit that there is a special magic of going with your children.....it just isn't the only magic.
I think Walt himself would be shocked and disappointed.I thought Walt Disney dreamed up the Disney park because he wanted a place that his employee's and their families could spend time together (wikipidie). I guess you got to ask yourself why you love it so much. Was it because of the memories you made there with your family? What would you have thought, if your parents did this to you??? Just for a moment imagine your 7 or 8 and you parents just told you that they are going to Disney without you.
How would you feel if someone said this to you?? "We are going and you're not". I truly think Walt would be sad by this...
I can think of a lot of places that my husband and I could spend "couple" time together and Disney would not make the list and I LOVE Disney! But I love it for what it is based on, the Family.
I brought this up to my parents and my Dad laughed and said "I hope they know that one day those same children will be picking out their Rest Home.....Remember that time Mom & Dad went to Disney without us! It's pay back time!!"
I have to be honest, the first time I saw a TR on this I was shocked! My Mom just thought it was plan cruel and my husband who is not that crazy about Disney agreed. He said the thought had never crossed his mind. Going to the "Happiest Place on Earth, where Dreams Come True" ...without the kids??? Where's the magic the sense of wonder? Who would have thought??
Go to Hawaii, it's great any time of the year without the kids!
