I love that song with Beyonce...just when Shakira sings, I try to drown it out. Can't stand her voice! :rotfl:

I listen to alot of "world" music and listened to Shakira when she first became popular in Columbia. Honestly, I think she's gotten too pop for me now, I liked when she was more true to her roots - and alot of that stuff has the really earthy, old world flavor.

I'll taker her over the Lillith faire yodelers any day! :)

I usually only listen to country. Don't hear any goats there. :lmao:

Except for when the lyrics say something like this "she broke my heart and stole my goat"
Just kidding, I'm a country gal too!

Hmm, I have not heard the Shakira goat song yet, as I usually only listen to country too. But I do like her, I like the song she has with Wyclef Jean "Hips Don't Lie". Thats a good one, doesn't sound too goaty to me. :rotfl:

Okay I'm willing to admit her voice is .....unique. However I really like her songs and if you get the album you can listen to the really good stuff. Sometimes you get a singer and the released singles are the only good songs, but she has two or three songs that probably will not be considered radio material that are really good. Check it out at the local library and decide before buying, that's what I do.

:lmao: This is too funny because my kids and i are always laughing about her sounding like a goat. When anything she sings comes on the kids say "Goat Girl".:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: I am glad we arent the only ones.

She sounds better in Spanish. In English, it sounds like she struggling to sing the words. Her voice flows more natural in Spanish. DH likes her. I wonder why. :rolleyes1 I like the Spanish version of Whenever, wherever. :thumbsup2

I take a class called Zumba at my local YMCA - and we use her song "My Hips Don't Lie". Now when I hear it - I always laugh as we TRY to do the move we're supposed to!

But she does have a sort of...different voice.... But then again - I LIKE it when everyone does't sound all alike.

I would like the chance to make her Bahhhh :lmao: (goats dont bahhh, now that I think about it)

So apt! Stevie Nicks, too. I can't stand that much vibrato.

Everyone I tell IRL look at me like I'm nuts....I'm so glad I'm not alone. :rotfl:

My mom says that all the time! I've never cared much for her music. But it's funny when she first got big here in the states which was my junior year of HS, my Spanish teacher LOVED her. Used to play her in class all the time. My best friend and I (who were in the class together) used to think she sounded a big goat-ish. Also called her "shacky" as a pet name to bug our teacher who wouldn't hear an unkind word against her :teeth:
