Or anyone else worried that now with online ressies and the ease of it that people will be overbooking more than usual? Or may not realize how to cancel reservations and just keep making another one when they change their plans?
I've made a few online, was able to play around and switch some of my stuff around a bit - but once I made one that was to replace one, I then right away went and cancelled my previous one.
But I can totally see people saying ohh, let's book this... and this... and this... and who will stop them? Isn't like a CM is on the phone to say um, I just booked you a dinner for that day, why are you wanting another.

people will have to struggle with is whether the system has some checks, either immediate or later at night, to prevent this. And what the consequences are if they do double book.

Also another thing that worries me is that you can book 4 restaurants all within 5 minutes of each other and the system allows it because it assumes that your party is splitting up. :sad2: I can see people booking all of these restaurants and then deciding the day of which restaurant to go to.

Yes, this is going to be a big problem.....Anyone can make a reservation and you don't even need a ressie number.....There will be a lot of people making double reservation....NOT FAIR>......

Not needing a reservation number isn't new with the new system. You never needed one, because those staying off site or locals have always been able to make reservations. The only thing that on site has ever given you is the ability to make the +10.

It will be interesting to see how this all washes out, because early reports are that more is available online than what is available on the phones.

One favor to ask, please keep this discussion limited to overbooking only. There are a ton of questions about how the new dining system works, and with all of us working it out right now, it's easiest to keep specific online discussion in one place. I'm going to try to update the first post of the online adr thread, just as soon as I am sure of how things are working.

Thanks! :goodvibes

Someone did report that if you book two reservations too close together, you get a message on the screen saying "You have booked two reservations too close together, if they are for the same people please cancel one."

And it's not like the CM would actually refuse to make another reservation if the guest insisted, I would think. (And the guest could always say, truthfully or not, "oh, my husband is meeting his buddy who lives in Orlando and I'm eating somewhere else with the buddy's wife" or whatever.)

Add me to the list. I'm worried about overbooking as well. Guess we have to wait and see how things turn out.
