I'll bet we wouldn't all agree with who is nasty and who isn't.

I just don't like when people's feelings are hurt because whole groups of people decide to play tag team bullying.

Real life isn't like that, and the holidays don't change anything...they just add to the expectations.

That's the magic word -- expectations. Most of the "bad stuff" in life stems from unfounded expectations, one way or another. We put extra stress on ourselves by holding unfounded expectations of how "picture perfect" everything should be "for the holidays" as if the normal thread of reality is suspended for a five week.

I think the way things will be percieved will also depend on the mood of the people you're presenting it too as well.

I've been grumpy as heck lately. Not sure why... probably has something to do with me being sicker than a dog. So I'm sure my posts have been coming off as snarky and mean lately. I don't mean it, but at least I realize it and walk away before it gets too out of hand. I can't even tell you how much tongue biting I've done around here the last few days because I feel like I want to say MANY things I'm not saying. And not a whole lot of them are nice.

But once I'm not sick anymore... I probably won't be grumpy anymore and the mean posts from me will subside. Grant you, there are MANY people who act like this all of the time, but your observation of grumpiness may be someone on an off day or your own perception of the situation.

That is so true. Myself included. Somedays, I can perceive the meanest spirited post as fluff and a nice little post as trouble. It really depends on who is reading and how it is interpreted. That being said, if I find a particular poster especially pissy, I pay no attention. I come here for fluff not to get into verbal volleyball.
