Is it just me or are Walk-Ins Ruining Disney Dinning?

Strangely enough, there are some of us who don't plan our Disney vacations so far in advance and so can't make ADRs that far in advance. I wish that Disney would set aside some dining times for those of us who are more spontaneous!

The only problem with that is Disney Visa cards are not available to Canadians and I would imagine it's the same thing with guests from other countries, so what would we do?

Do you really want me to answer that.

Stay Home the parks will be less crowded.

JK and I was kiddiing about the Money as well

To me, part of the fun of going to Disney, is the ability to change plans, and not over plan. We do lots of ADR's but like to do things on the cuff and not feel penned in to a military plan. Don't hate me, and I promise that I don't complain about the prices or if we don't get in, get upset. :cool2:

Yes, we are the same way. We do not do DDP because its just too much food and you feel as if you have to use it or lose it. We have on many occasions been the dreaded "walk-ins". If they can get us in fine, if not fine. Quite often we have been able to get in in 30 min. or less. I think many restaurants leave a certain number of spots for this. We have been so many times now we just go with the flow and if we get the urge to eat at a particular restaurant and they can accomdate us, why not. I sure did not mean to ruin anyones dining by being a 'walk-in' but thats the way if goes..smjj

The next time I walk-in to a restaurant, I'll announce, "I am here to ruin your dining experience!"

I hope that's okay. :)

I can't believe how many people 1) take this post seriously and 2) get defensive about it!

Thanks for the laugh tonight, OP!

The board humour meter appears to be malfunctioning (along with the search function) ;)

Me too. :rotfl: It wasn't even subtle, but just whooshed by a lot of people. Besides, we all know the only people who can truly ruin a dining experience are breast feeding DDPers who can't even be bothered to remove the leash from their child during dinner.

I’ve used DDP for all of my recent trips and I love this option. Have everything paid upfront and set my ADR’s in advance to ensure that I will never have a problem getting a seat, but these “Walk-In’s” (IMO) are ruining the experience for me.

Every time I go to a diner I see some poor family that didn’t plan ahead and can’t get a table. Some get angry and make a scene, causing us to feel uncomfortable. Then you have others that look sad and bring our mood down. If they do get into the restaurant they always seem to be the ones complaining about high prices.

The people that are ruining WDW or really the world IMO, are the negative people who blame others. I am an ADR lover but there have been several times that I was lucky enough to walk in to a table. I think there is enough room in WDW for both (unless you are a party of 10 or more, then make your ADR's! :) )

I've seen people make scenes at a bus stop when they don't get on, at a ride when Junior is too short (I witnessed a man shove a CM over this, and watched security come), at Fantasmic! when it's full, checking in at a hotel over certain room requirements, inside restaurants I've seen parents drink while their baby screams for 20 minutes solidly, while the whole restaurant stares at them.

The fact that a walk in did or did not get a table doesn't really affect others all that much, although I can see how making a scene can. Walk ins aren't the problem - it's the people - and unfortunately we can run into those few inconsiderate people anywhere.

Do people only read the first post?:confused3 ...

... Well, I do have some ocean front property for sale in Nevada if anyone's interested.:lmao:

Not one of those who does not plan or get DDP. B U T ........we went to Disney a year ago, with 12 people, all from the neighborhood....we had not planned on going or reservations or anything......so on a whim we got 11 days at All Star Movies in a perferred room.......the others were there too.....We did not have any reservations at all for dinners. SO we went to the front desk and asked what was available and we got Biergarten and that was it.......DID we get mad.....Nope....did we get unhappy .....NOPE.....but we sure had fun going to Disney and being with this wonderful neighborhood group.....
We also found good CS places that had decent food and our DDE card took 20 percent off most of them...
SOOOOOOOOO if you find yourself in a pickle.....go and try some of the cs places and enjoy the atmosphere and the food......
I am also so glad that you are all good natured about this post :goodvibes

:rotfl2:

Next on the agenda.... 'All those pesky people who insist on going to WDW the same time as I do and forcing me to WAIT in lines for food/rides/shows/bathrooms'

:lmao:

Better yet all of you "out of towners" who come to WDW, so the parks are too busy for us locals to enjoy! :rotfl2:
