Is it just me, or are the dinner menus "fancy"?

Don't skip restaurants you really want to experience because of the menu. They will always bring you an adult portion of a child's meal.

Why bother going to a restaurant which offers unique and interesting foods and then ordering chicken fingers or mac-n-cheese? If you are not ordering off the menu, what are you really "experiencing" at the restaurant? :confused3

I'm browsing through dinner menus trying to find some more casual dinner options. My fiance and I wanted to have dinner at CRT but was disappointed to see that it was a little too "fancy" for me.

I guess I'm used to eating sandwiches and eating at restaurants like Fridays and Houlihans. I don't like seafood and I guess I just prefer casual dishes, I tend to make a lot of chicken and pasta at home. :rotfl: I'm a cheap date!

I'd still like to have a nice sit-down dinner with my fiance but now I don't know where to go. Any thoughts?

LOL! You sound like me. I'm a very picky, basic eater. I like burgers, steaks, simple pasta dishes. I don't care for most seafood (unless it's fried;) ), I don't like salad-y type appetizers, and for health reasons I can no longer eat chocolate desserts (although I love them!)

Our last trip, both dh (also picky) and I really enjoyed the Crystal Palace dinner buffet. Lots of choices, and something for everyone. The dessert bar was awesome.

My husband is really into fine dining. He enjoys trying all new kinds of food, seasonings, and sauces. I just really cannot tolerate seasonings, and I just dont enjoy fancier food. I guess I just never grew into that "adult" food stage. Lol. For me, chicken fingers, fries and a sundae are the perfect meal! Some people think thats boring, but thats just me :) Anyways, bc my husband loves fancier food, I am more than happy to accompany him and eat off the childrens menu. I loved eating at the castle. It really was an "experiance" for me, and made even better bc I could eat what I liked. Personally, when I choose a restraunt, I choose a burger and fry type place, but Im more than happy to go with my husband to an upscale restraunt, and I will admit its nice to get dressed up and go out.:woohoo:
