Give me a break, Disney has us all running around like a chicken with their head cut off trying to get a code. What is the big deal about them dropping their prices instead of doing it this way. I get so frustrated because I am on that looks for a code. Now I wanted to change my dining plane to the basic instead of the DDP. Ok simple, NOT they would have to cancel the reservation and put a new reservation in and it would be more money then I am paying now. This is it for DW for me, I am going to start to go to more grown up places, this isnt worth it to me anymore So looks like I will stay on the DDP instead of uping my package price for the change.

I can't say I was ever much of a code chaser, but since we bought into DVC I just don't even look at them anymore.

I guess it would be a lot easier if no codes, but the codes give incentive to buy APs, get the Disney Visa or just live in FL. The codes wouldn't even be so bad, but now there are changes to the rates, dates in the middle of the dates. The AP rates have changed dates and/or prices for the current fall offer a number of times. I have been watching them and actually had to change my original reservation online, since the CM on the phone refused to do it, to save about $60 on our week stay starting on Sept 28. Originally some nights were 54/night and some 74/night. Less than 1 week into the code all nights were 54/night! I had to rebook on line due to the fact that the phone CM wouldn't change the reaservation and they said if you can get that rate, on the WDW site by the way no Expedia etc., do it!! I did and when I called to cancel the first res. the CM asked why I did it that way-go figure! Then when the FD for Disney Visa was out there the next week I actually changed to that since that ended up being better since food was included. I guess WDW is really having a hard time filling up rooms this fall and is hoping that once you book something, you will look no further.

What do you mean change your dining plan to the basic instead of the DDP? DO you mean Deluxe Dining Plan (I think most people are using DxDP for that)? If that's the case, you probably had a different Code with the DxDP instead of what would be available with the DDP (basic plan).

Anyway, when codes come out, there are a limited number of rooms available for the code rate and not all rooms are available for the code rate.

I don't even use a code when calling. I just ask if there is an annual passholder rate or an AAA rate or whatever. I let the Cast Member handle the code part. It really is no different from seeing an ad in the newspaper for any other place and being told to reference such-and-such code. You are even asked for codes for discounts for online shopping.

Discount codes are part of life these days, Disney World or not. But you can do what I do and simply tell the Cast Member what you want to do and they can look it up for you.

Why would they just lower the cost, if people don't know about the codes and I would bet the majority don't, they will let people pay full price.

I think you need to call back and speak to another CM. There is no reason you would have to cancel your reservation and book a new one just to change dining plans. Obviously the CM you spoke to just could not find the correct code for the dining plan you wanted.

well isn't that understandable, the economy is so bad, I am feeling the pich now and I shouldnt even be going to DW but I have the airfare at that is another joke so I will keep it. :)

Ummm, do you use coupons at the store? This is the same thing. This is a coupon for WDW. If I just goto the store, and dont know about a coupon, I'll pay whatever the price says. If I know about or have the coupon, I'll save money. Seriously, what's the difference?

What resort are you staying at? That is about $200 shy of my trip for 4 at CBR for 8 nights with DDP. I got my discount thru AAA, that's where I've gotten mine at for the last 3 years and as long as they continue to have them, that's what I'll do.
