Is it impossible to get room in Disneyland

I am in the early stages of planning a trip to Disneyland in September. It would be kind of a family reunion so I was looking at getting either 4 studios or a 2 bedroom and one studio at Grand Californian in disneyland. Are the villa's impossible to get at 7 months out?

They are not impossible, I'm 3 for 3 at 7 months:

Early May - studio
Late September - studio
Mid August before D23 - 1 bedroom

A 2 bedroom would probably be easier to get than 4 studios.

Sep after Labor Day time often has openings but when it does, you need to book immediately at 7 month window and odds are reduced if seeking multiple rooms.

AKV - 46 Dedicated Studios - 0 Dedicated 1BR villas - 140 Dedicated 2BR villas - 250 Lockoffs - 22 GVs. 134 villas within Jambo House at AKL (46 Dedicated Studios, 82 Lockoff 2BRs, 6 GVs) and 324 villas in Kidani Village (140 Dedicated 2BRs, 168 Lockoff 2BRs, 16 GVs) for a total of 458 Villas / 708 Max. Available

BLT - 0 Dedicated Studios - 0 Dedicated 1BR villas - 148 Dedicated 2BR villas - 133 Lockoffs - 14 Grand Villas = 295 Villas / 428 Max. Available

Basically the 4 studios you want is 18% of the inventory of studio rooms. It is highly unlikely that even if traveling at an off time you would be able to get almost 20% of the rooms at any resort at the 7 month window.

All studios and 1 bedrooms are part of the 2 bedroom lockoffs. Which means they could be booked as a 2 bedroom with the door open between them or booked separately with the studio & 1 bedroom connecting door locked. There are no studios or 1 bedrooms at VGC without the lockoff door.

Some DVC resorts have dedicated studios & 1 bedrooms, which means they do not have the lockoff door and cannot be combined to created a 2 bedroom. BWV has a lot of them.

I am two for two at 7 months. June 2012 = 2-bedroom unit. June 2014 = 1 bedroom unit.

Impossible no, 4 studios I wouldn't count on. A 2 BR as long as it's not an event weekend is possible.

We had to give up on our WL for our December trip and book DLH instead. Seems our dear friends have picked an insanely busy weekend to get married LOL It's the opening weekend of Candlelight apparently.

Well I guess I could do a two bedroom and a studio if that's available bc there will be 12 of us.
