Is It Harder

We got everything we wanted right at 6am 60 days out. I have heard of people having a harder time than previously though.

I would suspect capacity has decreased more than attendance which would explain any difficulties.

I definitely had to book exactly 60 days out + 10 (for staying on Disney Property) & was able to get everything we wanted BUT changing ADRs at 30 days isn't going well. My cousins decided to join us & I've had zero luck at increasing our HS reservation to include them. To add, HS park passes are sold out for that day so I'm expecting it to be busy, too busy to change a reservation.

Was much harder to book restaurants for March at 60 days than it was for our August or October trips last year. We got most right at 6am, but definitely did not get everything we wanted (no Topolino's at any time/any day for example). We are staying a week but have a split stay so furthest ahead we could book was 60+4, so I'm sure that was a factor. By 7am, was very slim pickings for a party of 5 indeed. Smaller parties may have more luck.

I hope not, but I'll find out in a week. with fewer restaurants to pick from, I expect more challenges.

Like others, we had no problems at the 60+10 window, but we wanted to move some things around about 14 days before we arrived and it was very difficult to do so.
We ended up having better luck moving things around "day of."

Is it 6am Eastern time? I keep seeing different times. Any difference between the app and website? Thank you!

I thought the ADRs open at 7am EST, have they pushed it back to 6am or are you not in EST?

Yep never mind just read your response!

i say to keep checking! My cousin just scored her BOG reservation for her first visit to WDW. She was so happy. She's at her 30 day window & it popped up late last night.

are you finding it harder to secure ADR's due to the limits on capacity

Yes. It’s frustrating. Between the technical issues with the reservation system and lesser availability, It’s been a real challenge. I could not get everything even at the 60
day mark. The ones I was able to secure were not at the times we wanted.

I guess I got lucky because I had no trouble getting everything I wanted at 60 days. I did put the harder ones toward the end of my 7 day trip so that probably helped, but I was able to get CRT, Topolino's, Beaches & Cream, Sanaa, Oga's and a few more without issue. We are a party of 4 so maybe that helps.
ETA: this was the beek before Easter, so a "busy" week

I highly recommend the touring plans ADR finder -- it works!

I got up at 6 am and did 60 + 10 for two weeks at Easter. I wasn't able to Homecoming for the second night , but I was able to get it later in the week. I also couldn't get Ale and Compass breakfast for the Saturday of Easter weekend, which I thought was odd, but I did get it later for that day. I found out they do some special all you can eat brunch for Easter I guess that is why it was fully booked. The rest I had no problems at all. I was surprised.

Trend here seems to be prety clear--it's more or less the same as Fastpass used to be at 60 days out: if you have a longer trip (4+ days) you are going to find things easily at the end of your trip, but shorter trips, or no resort stay, will be much harder.

We're going in March and have had a few problems securing ADR when we want them but usually a few days later we're able to secure what we'd like.

Why was it difficult to move things around? What were you trying to do? And when you say "10 plus days" does that mean on your 60 day out, you can reserve a reservation for your 10th day of trip? Confused by what 10 plus means. Just trying to understand and learn.

They mean they had at least 10 day Disney resort stay, so can book reservations for your length of stay (up to 10 days) at 60 days from check in. So they were able to book up to 70 days out, which is a big advantage over most people with shorter stays or staying offsite.

By “move things around” I assume they meant they wanted to change some reservation times or days a couple of weeks before their trip and found most things were fully booked.

Our window opened up at 60 days prior to our arrival, and then we were allowed to book up to 10 days past that arrival window. At that point in time everything we wanted to get was available.

About 2 weeks before our trip we switched around 2 park days (swapped DHS & MK) and found it very hard to find ADR's at that point. Due to the capacity limits in the restaurants there just aren't as many ADR's available (and this was for a slow week!). Fortunately we had 100% success finding what we wanted on the day of the actual meal, so we didn't miss anything. I'm guessing people wait to cancel at the last minute.

Thank you so much for the detailed response, very helpful! Glad you got ADR's the day of! Yes people double book ressies and then cancel one the day of, kinda frustrating, but at least you got what you wanted!!
