Is it hard for you to pronounce your own name?

no...one syllable..pretty easy

no one had a problem with my maiden name...my 1st married name was butchered...and my current married name (and the last freaking time i change it! lol), people just can't spell it...how hard is it to pronounce or spell RALEIGH...for clarification, we'll say, raleigh, like the city...you'd be amazed at how many people out there have no idea that there is a city named raleigh...we'll get rawley, rolly, rahlee...drives me batty!!

on the other hand, my first name is easy to pronounce...but people can never spell it right. i get brandi, brandee, brandy, brandei...

I don't have a problem saying my name but when I meet people for the first time they either call me Julia or Judy. I don't studder when I introduce myself.
People even get my last name wrong. We get calls from telemarketers asking for Mr. or Mrs. Taylor. It's Tyler!

I say mine too fast and people think I'm saying Debbie Ann.

I've been called all things, but Viv-een was the worst. When kids say my name wrong, it's cute....Viv-i-nen, Bibi-en, etc. I always say I'll spell it on the phone and people never wait, they're so sure it's Vivian, so I have to do it twice.

Vivienne

there are exactly 7 letters in my first and last name combined-both are one-syllable, so people don't usually mispronounce them. My problem is both my married last name and my maiden name (which I now use as a middle name) are female first names. People who don't know me never know which is my first or last name-I get called both, and sometimes get called my middle name. i've just learned to answer to all three names:rolleyes:

Hey Pooh Girl--didn't Shelley Fabares sing a song about you in the 50's? ;) (Johnny Angel?)

My first name is pretty easy, how can you mispronounce Jill? However, at leasst half the time on the phone people think I am saying "Joe". It drives me nuts.

My last name only has 5 letters, but 3 syllables. It's amazing how many people butcher it.

LOL my mom swears it is a coincidence!!! I only beleive her b/c my grandma is Johnie Mae.

I hardly ever post here on the CB, but this topic I can relate to!

My name is Aisling, correctly pronounced it's ASH-LING. But I can't blame people for mispronouncing my name, unless they're from Ireland!

I can pronounce my name just fine but other people never pronounce it right so I have iven up and just go by Lisa

How many different ways are there to pronounce "Michelle"?
There's someone on a radio station here who pronounces her name Meeeeeeeeeeeechele. It drives me nuts! I change the station every time I hear her say it. LOL!

Huh? Dale & mail are pronounced the same way. I assume that Gail is no different, right?

I'm confused by this one too. Dale, mail, Gail...they all rhyme.
And Gail is a very nice name!

I don't think I say my name weird. I have to pronounce it for others all the time, though. I'll bet I have to pronounce at least twice a day for others.

For some reason the spelling of my name stumps people.

Katholyn

I don't think so but you should hear a Latino try to roll that "R" before the "K". KirrrrrrrrrrrrK(ugh)!

Sounds like a cat coughing up a hairball:p
