Is it even POSSIBLE to rent full size vans anymore?

I've been doing some research on a trip for 08 for my family and we're a family of 4 adults and 2 little ones. My sister's mini van will be a very uncomfortable journey with luggage and all of us.. I have been trying to find a full sized van to rent but can't!

Sure is. I can tell you from personal experience.

We were delayed delayed delayed on our Feb Vacation trip, and ended up having to fly into Tampa, and then drive south to Ft Myers. We had reserved a compact car for 2 days to make the drive and make it so we did not have to dash back to the Ft Myers airport the same day.

We arrived at TPA around midnight, and were offered a free upgrade to a FULL SIZE 12 passenger van. For me, DH, and DS (age 9) and 3 small suitcases. Each piece of luggage (checked, and carryon) could have had it's own seatbelt.

We declined the upgrade, and made the 3 minute walk to the other side of the airport to pick up our Corrolla.

This was with Hertz.

We rented a full size 11 pax van with Thrifty.
They are located off the airport but by only a few minutes. They also had the best price.

Thanks.. I won't be renting from the airport though we'll be driving from cleveland. As long as I know it's possible I'll keep looking thanks SO much!

I suggest you go to the local yellow pages. There are generally van rental companies you can use. I have used Ardent for Girl Scout trips in Nashville for example.
