Any new updates or anything to report about the upcoming WDW holiday extravaganza?

That's what I thought on the tickets.....I think having a day in the middle to be less rushed & looking at some of the edible displays/decorations is the way to go. Then head to MK late afternoon to enjoy the Christmas party.

Thanx!! Trying to be realistic on what all we can accomplish in a day....but I figure shows will be a good time to sit & relax & we'll need that through out the day(s).....so hoping we can see them all & still do the rides everyone's interested in.

How long do they keep the Osborne Lights on every evening? A few hours?? If so, then yes....we'll wait until the first rush is done....don't really want to be boxed in (I'm claustophobic) EEK!! :rotfl:

We have headed back after Fantasmic and the park was closed and the lights were on for a good 1/2 hour. Check at Guest Relations for actual times. I know this has happened many times when we have been there. :dance3:

Have fun!

Have a WONDERFUL trip, Laurie!

So jealous!! Can't wait to hear all about it though!! Have a blast!
:wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard:

We are currently at Doernbecher's Children's Hospital in Portland Oregon with our 4 yr old daughter Michayla. She had open heart surgery on Tuesday to repair what they thought was an Atrial Septum Defect (hole) the size of a dime....but they got in there & realized it was more the size of a nickel & there was also 2 more holes. So the surgeons patched all of it & she is doing remarkably well. We're hoping to be cut loose late tomorrow....but it could be Saturday before we leave.

So I apologize for no new updates.......I'm hoping after I get back home that I'll be able to finish my DL TR & then concentrate on sharing more on here for our upcoming trip. Trust me, we think about it all the time & I brought tons of WDW books & music to the hospital!! :woohoo:

Thank you for that information!! I'd love to be there for the "big" lighting but I also will enjoy it much more if the twins are not stressed due to the large crowds. I will definitely check the schedule with guest relations when we get there!!

that's great news!

 Thanx!! She's getting an echo done right now, had the chest xray earlier & had the chest tube & pacer wires removed this morning.......things look good for an afternoon check-out!! So ready to be out of the hospital & back home. Missing my other kiddos (we've been gone since Sunday afternoon).

We did get to come home on Friday!! Michayla did so well & she continues to heal at home.....in fact, she's getting pretty active which is a good thing but also a bad thing. Unfortunately, she doesn't understand cause & effect....so keeping her from jumping & climbing is a full time job.

I've been reading articles on crowd levels for the time we're planning on going & even a break down on which parks would be better to go that day & the ones to avoid based on past crowd patterns. So I may need to do some changing on our itinerary.....but we'll see.

I'm working on my trip report from my Disneyland trip & when I get done with that.....I'll get back to active planning on here. Come on over to the Disneyland side & check out my trip report (link is below ~ Divas take two)

You poor thing. She probably has more energy than she has ever had before so she is raring to go.

It will be interesting to see once she's fully healed.......She's already back to where she was & it's been less than a week!!

Thought I'd recap another Disneyland Trip. This was in 2008......during spring break & during the Year of a Million Dreams promo. My hubby & I took, Derek, Anthony & Adaleah. Addy was about 2 1/2 & this was her first trip.

We figured a good way to start her off was with a character meal. We went to Ariel's Grotto for the Princess breakfast. Addy was dressed in her Cinderella finest:

Anthony was just as excited as Addy was to see the Princesses. We saw Ariel when we went down the stairs to the dining area. They saw Belle, Jasmine, Cinderella & Snow White.

I have to say......this has got to be the prettiest Snow White we've ever seen.........she had the look to match the character very nicely & her voice was good too!!

After breakfast we took a family shot on the bridge with Paradise Pier in the background.

During the trip, we stopped to do a photopass picture in Disney's California Adventure Park & look who popped out to greet us!!

We took the kids up to Pooh's Corner in Critter Country to do the meet-n-greet with the Winnie the Pooh characters. Addy got really excited when she saw Pooh Bear. Now if you look at her face, you'd think she was upset....but she was far from it.....she was crying because she was so excited & loved Pooh bear sooooooooo much. I wasn't sure we'd ever get her to stop hugging Pooh. It was very sweet!!

D3-22.jpg

We did the Minnie & Friends character breakfast & Addy wore her Minnie dress......so she was happy to see Minnie mouse & they both had to show off their dresses!!

D4-24.jpg

One of the things we found so cute on this trip was Addy's ability to entertain the crowds. If we were stopped for a parade & waiting for it to start....she'd get up & start dancing & singing. She was one happy girl!!

D4-48.jpg

On our last day, we were feeling the stresses of the large crowds & even though we had a few special moments.....we were all feeling a bit down. There were long lines for everything.....rides, shows, restaurants, bathrooms, shops, etc. We had run into a ton of rude guests, we actually had a few people jump over our stroller when Addy was napping in it!! After a few days of this....it does tend to start taking it's toll. Addy unfortunately was too little to understand why characters would leave when you were waiting in line for them. This happened more times than I could count this trip. She would be distraught every time it happened. So after making the rounds on Main Street getting Mickey, Goofy, Donald & Pluto in their Year of a Million Dreams costumes......Minnie had been impossible to get up to. Every single time we got in line, she left before we got close. So Addy was fussing a bit as we sat on a bench & a gentlemen in a suit, came up to us to ask if we were having a magical time (he was a CM). We explained that due to the crowds & Addy's age, we were having a few stresses when it came to character meet ups. He said.....who do you want see? Addy said Minnie......and he said "Minnie is a close friend of mine....how about I take you over to see her?". Well of course we were thrilled. Minnie's line was a good 30+ people long. He walked right up to her & said "Minnie, I have a new friend I'd like you to meet" & Addy went running up to her......giving her a huge hug (with tears running down her face).

He then had our whole family go up & he took our picture with her.

I can't even begin to tell you how good that made us all feel. We got our 2nd wind & we didn't let the crowds or rude guests ruin our last day. We had a blast & it was so special to get that Disney Magic shown to us when we needed it the most!!

Our last dinner at Disneyland was at Goofy's Kitchen. We got to see a ton of characters that meal but the one that stood out was getting to see Brer Fox!! Addy wasn't sure what to think & a bit scared. We realized this was probably the only character with lots of teeth!! This was Derek trying to convince her that Brer Fox was nice.....lol

D5-103.jpg

After he signed their autograph book, he took their pen & then hid behind a wall & teased them. To this day, every time Addy sees Brer Fox....she scolds him for taking her pen!!! :rotfl2:
