is it crowded christmas eve and christmas day?

We are visiting universal, staying off site. December 23-27 is
it going to be crowded on the 24th and 25th or is it better to go
after christmas eve and christmas day?

Those are definitely peak days. Crowds will be heavier than on the 27th.

12/26 and 12/27 will be extremely busy (45-90 min waits for nearly everything), so if you're trying to avoid crowds, then go on/before Christmas. Generally, Christmas eve and day are not that busy. Maybe a 30-45 minute wait for some stuff, but otherwise not more than a 20.
