Hey guys...

We went to Disney two years ago and went in November. It was great. The lines weren't horribly long and it wasn't hot. However, my daughter was sick with swine flu so she didn't get to enjoy it at all.

We were going to go last year but it just wasn't in the cards. Luckily we didn't because my daughter would have been sick again. It looks as if she is going to get sick every Halloween! Ha.

So basically we thought that we might go this June. I went a long time ago in July and remember it was quite hot. But I am from Jersey and our summers aren't picnics. We were figuring ..we will be hot here ..might as well be hot in Disney...

Now it's possible my brain is playing games and I just don't remember how hot or crowded it was...

I tried looking at Touring plans but it didn't have it that far in advance...So...how crowded is it at the end of June?

TIA

I'm going from 24th June for 2 weeks. It will be crowded, but don't let it ruin your holiday! :)

We go just about every summer. What works for us is heading to the parks in the morning at opening, stay till after lunch then head back to the room for a break. When we head back to the room it is a good time to nap and then check out the pool. In the evenings we head back to the parks. My biggest complaint in the summer is quite a few plans are changed by thunder storms. As far as crowds they will be there but good planning makes them manageable IMHO. Have fun!

Thanks guys...

Here is our options..

We could go in July(16th- 21) with a 30% discount($3900) to the Beach club since I have a pin. We are purchasing the dining plan also. I could go with a 5% discount to the Poly(which is my favorite). It really ends up only saving me $100 to go to the Beach club.

or

We could go at the end of August and get the free dining at the poly.(3500). My husband isn't thrilled going at this time and is really not on board . But it's the cheapest.

or

We could go in November...when we KNOW the weather was great and the crowds were low. We have been at this time before. But it would cost 4100.

My question...Do they ever extend free dining to the November time frame? That would save me a lot.

Is spring an option for you? Our last trip (last week of April/1st week of May 2011) we stayed at the Poly with a PIN and saved close to $1,700. Based on the last few analyst calls I have read about is seems that Disney is "serious" this time about ending or at least cutting back on discounts. However, with gas hitting $4.00 in most parts of the country I am not sure how this is going to play out. I have never heard of free dining in November, however, I have heard of room discounts in the weeks prior to Thanksgiving (including Jersey Week), which IMHO are a better deal than free dining

Yea I am not sure how Disney plans to stick to that either with the gas prices. All the airline fares are going up too.

I am almost positive they offered free dining in November two years ago...I remember because I was deciding between stay at Port Orleans with Free dining or the Poly with a 40% discount. I remember struggling with what to do. The poly worked better for our family of 5. ...but it was too much to do the poly AND free dining.

We chose the Poly and didn't do FD. We regretted not doing the FD because we ended up spending a lot on food..

So this time..I am taking dining , even if it isn't free. The spring is difficult for us due to my kids playing sports...so we kind of have to stay around here.

I think I am leaning toward November...but hope there is some sort of deal..

Here is the long story. We booked in August 2011. Shortly thereafter we got a PIN for free dining. We said, cool, free dining. Saved some money with that deal. Fast forward a few months, we got another PIN code for 40% off the Poly. Well I crunched the numbers and even with paying for the dining plan out of pocket we still ended up saving 25% (approx 1,700 off rack rates). From what I have read and seen is that the room discounts are always a better deal. I also crunched the numbers and for our family the plus dining was a good deal and did save us a little money.
