and how do I go about doing it? My AP expires November. I am probably not going back before April or so. Does it make more sense to renew my AP and let it stay unused for half a year or should I just buy a new one when I need it and then have a year's use out of it.

You do get a discount for renewing your APs however it isn't a big discount.

You need to renew within 30 days of the expiration date, so if you're not planning a trip until several months later it wouldn't be worth renewing them unless you're only taking one trip within that time period (from expiration of your current APs until the next year's expiration).

You should get a renewal notice in the mail. We saved about $35.00 per ticket and you can renew it by mail. If your not going to WDW until April, is there a chance that you will go again within a year after that? If so, I would wait and just get new passes when you come in April.

That's what I thought. Thanks guys for the quick responses. I guess I won't renew. If there are no good hotel deals I may not even buy an annual next year. It always seems to eat a hole in my pocket. I'm currently trying to figure out a way to squeeze in another trip before the expiration on 11/21. It costs me more money than it saves.;)
