We are probably going to be flying out on a Tuesday night or Wednesday morning and returning mid afternoon on a Wed. Would this be any cheaper than weekend to weekend? Is there a cheaper day to fly?

I'm waiting for JetBlue and Southwest to come out with my dates and wondering about this stuff!

mid week is usually the least expensive. When your dates come out, take a peek at what days are the best. Southwest gives you a matrix to figure these things out. Do a mock reservation and see how it works.

When I worked for the airlines, the least expensive fares were usually for Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday travel. These days have the least business travel.

We are flying Wednesday, July 4 in the AM and Saturday, July 14 early afternoon. I booked SWA right when the flights were released. I paid the same amount for both flights, $119--the cheapest Summer rate right now. The are both non-stop. There were less to choose from on the weekends, but there were still plenty of options.
