Not generally. In fact, Southwest usually has the best fares to fly on Tues, Weds, and Sat.

The reason is that most business travelers want to fly Sunday night or Monday morning, and return Thursday or Friday to be home for the weekend.

I think Peg2001 is generally right but in checking for fares for upcoming trip--something I'm doing daily--I just noticed that if I change Sat-Sat to Fri-Fri or even Fri to 2nd Sat, the fare goes from 416RT to 376 on United/US Air. $376 is still sucky.

I suspect I won't see a great airfare out of Denver this year.

The fares drop significantly on the flights that leave later on Friday night. Most business traveller are either home or in the air going home by 7PM.
