First, let me welcome you to the bosrds,,WELCOME !!!
now to your question.
Well,,it is Florida, and still warm in Oct., so I'm gonna go with "as buggy as can be expected in Oct. in Florida".
Why,,are you a entomologist ?
I'm a fisherman.
yep it is buggy year round. Just not as bad in Dec thru March. unless it is hot that time of the year. But at the fort they are never very bad. Disney does a good job with pest control so not a real problem.
Thank you for the welcome!
But, what would that be? I have been to WDW in January and in July, both times in hotels, not camping. I don't know what I should expect in Oct.
The only problem I've had at the Fort with bugs is mosquitos, usually near Bay Lake. Last April, I was trying to sit on the little deck they have near the marina, and the mosquitos just wouldn't leave me alone. Of course, that's the one day I forgot to stick an Off towelette in my pocket! But as far as ants or cockroaches, or anything you wouldn't want in your room (RV or cabin), I haven't seen anything. You should miss the bi-annual lovebug invasion, unless you are coming in very early October - they are harmless but get on your nerves after a while. They typically come out in May and September, but it can be late September and into October.
Florida can be a very buggy place, but Disney is very good with pest control.
