Is it bad to wear an anniversary badge if it's not quite your anniversary?

Why would you wear a badge when it's not true? Why do you want attention? And what are you expecting?

And I agree with those who wrote that it cheapens it for others who actually are there on the day (or at least within a week) of their celebration date. Going by the reasoning of many who are posting, then every single person visiting a Disney park would be wearing a button??? Every single one of us is within six months of some type of "celebration". And many of us are always at least 1-2 months away from one.

But do whatever floats your boat I guess. I don't even wear buttons when I'm there on a special day. So it's not like it hurts or takes anything away from me. But again, I do feel it takes away from others who are actually there during the time of the event. (One exception I see could be honeymoons, since they are a one-time event and don't really count until you take the trip, no matter if you were married months ago. And let's face it, anyone who has been married less than about 3-5 years is pretty much newly married:)

My DH and I are celebrating our birthdays while there:bday:..my birthday is the week before we go and his is two days before we go! we are also celebrating our MARCH anniversary:lovestruc:lovestruc...35 years...had our honey moon there! so we think it should be worth a celebration!

Yea, I don't get it. If you weren't at WDW, would you celebrate your birthday or anniversary at home months afterwards? Again, if it's a week or two off I can see it. Beyond that, it is not your anniversary or birthday. Would it be great if we WERE there during a special occasion? Of course. But it seems like forcing something that's not there.

I actually asked the cast member this once when we were celebrating Disney as both our Christmas present and an early anniversary present (about 3 months early). We had saved up money so we could go to Disney, and the cheapest time to visit (and the time that worked best with our hectic schedules) was in February.

They just smiled and filled out a button for me, and basically said, "You're celebrating your anniversary! Here you go!"

So by all means - yes! Wear the button and have fun! :)

I can't take vacation time during our actual anniversary month, neither can he, so we were there a month before a milestone anniversary. And wore the buttons. It led to some fun interactions, and I also found it was nice to wish others a happy birthday or congrats or what have you. Makes things a little easier to strike up conversations in line, or pass the time on a crowded bus!
