We will be spending the day at Aquaventure and would like order sandwiches from room service or some snacks from the buffet to take with us. Is this allowed? Thanks in advance.

Hi. I was originally going to say no, but as I was registering to answer your question, I thought about it some more. They don't allow fruit to leave the ship, but I don't remember if they allow meats to leave either. You could certainly ask at the Guest Services desk.

No. No. No.

(Hold a moment while I find my flame-retardant clothing...)

You cannot take fruits and meats and prepared/unpackaged/unsealed foods off the ship into other countries. Yes, some might tell you to order uncrustables from room service and keep them sealed and take the with you but, IMO, this is wrong. Your cruise allows you to eat as much as you want while you are ON THE SHIP, not during every meal/snack in the 3 day/4 day/7 day period of your cruise. Again, there is a lot of controversy on this and some folks will report CM's "packing" them food to take to Atlantis, but, IMO, this is wrong... both for the CMs and for the guests who feel that since they are not on the ship for lunch then Disney should somehow provide it for them.

And before everyone gets all "but unless it is specifically posted by the host country" blah blah, you see the signs at customs coming back INTO THE US forbidding fruits/meat,etc so why would it be ok to do in someone else's country?

Basically as above....most countries have adopted regulations similar to those in the US where you are not allowed to bring any unprocessed fruits/veges/animal products into the country. We do bring refilled bottles of water.

DCL says that you cannot take food off the ship; at least in part because they don't want to be responsible for any episodes of disease or food poisoning caused by improperly stored food.

Of course, you could choose to bring some Jerky or granola bars to serve as a snack while on your excursion. Since that is processed food which doesn't require refrigeration, you're ok.

I don't think you can, but I thought I heard that you can order PB&J sandwiches and maybe heard that some people do order them and take them on excursions I think I remember reading it somewhere don't remember where. They wouldn't know if you take stuff off the ship as they don't check you bags until you get back to come on the ship. If you do take sandwiches make sure to eat them and not have them in your bags when you board the ship. That ma cause some trouble not sure?:confused3

I have a daughter with food allergies and eating issues and I have always taken food for her everywhere we go whether on a cruise or elsewhere. I have never had a problem. I do not take food for the entire family, just my daughter and sometimes for the other kids when they were babies. She's doing much better now and I actually am able to not carry food with me most times and it is so much nicer. We are also out of diapers. I can't wait for our next cruise, just carrying sunblock and a towel - yeah!!!!

Sealed PB&J uncrustables and sealed boxes of cereal are the only things that I know you can get on the ship and take off the ship, other than things like sealed rum cakes.

The original question was IS THIS ALLOWED and it's a simple answer - No.

Thank you, answers that question. Any suggestions on where to have a quick snack/lunch that doesn't cost an arm and leg? I've heard some very high prices for a hamburger, just don't know how true the information is. Thanks again.
