do the parks every minute but to do pools, waterparks, Downtown Disney, etc?
Im reading the relaxing at WDW thread and seeing that ppl consider anytime they arent actually in the parks as relaxing
but isnt PS meals, Downtown Disney, mini-golf, campfire, waterparks, checking out other resorts, etc constantly doing something too?
to me pure relaxation means not having anything planned at all!

what does relaxation mean to you?

I think of the way we go to Orlando is "semi-commando". Just pick a park, go until you feel you've seen what you want to then leave and do whatever sounds good at the time.

It might be dinner, it might be DTD, it might be sitting by the pool. We do go to a park every day, but I still find it relaxing.

That's one of the reasons we like to stay off site. So many options other than parks. (that and I love US/IOA and must go :rolleyes1 )

Sitting by the pool or at the resort all day would be stressful for me. Don't like doing "nothing".

It's different for everyone.

Have to post a funny...I thought going commando was, well you know, what it is supposed to mean :rotfl: (no undies)
Anyway, I think sitting by the pool is very relaxing because the kids can swim by themselves now. :flower:
Eating at a great restuarant is relaxing too.
Enjoying the view is great too! :Pinkbounc

our fav thing to do when we need a "moment" is to get a cold drink, some popcorn, and just find a nice spot to sit and people watch. gives us a chance to let the world go by, and discuss what we have done, and what we are going to do next. ds likes the time to just sort of climb around whatever area we have paused in and "chill" as he puts it.

I really think the commando mentality is not how many places you go while you're there but the attitude while in the parks. We certainly have things planned for everyday on our 7day trip in June, but we have a "no rules" mentality about it. The only real structure is where we are going that day, and if we have a sit down meal scheduled, when we meet for that. Now I'm forunate enough to have boys old enough to handle themselves, and we do insist on pairs at all times, but our pace will be casual, and we're free to go (in pairs) in what ever direction we please.

The other thing is we scheduled "downtime" each day. Staying at WL makes that a lot easier, especially for MK and EPCOT. Typically, we'll have 3 hours or so on one side of dinner or the the other, just to sit in the pool, read a book in a rocking chair, rest those weary toes !

For me "relaxing" needs to include at least a visit to a water park to sit in the tube and float on the creek. I love both of them. Relaxing has also meant time in hot tubs at various places, and I do enjoy swimming in the pools, too.

Commando to me to rushing from attraction to attraction with no breaks. Like being at a park before it opens and staying at a park til it closes.

Relaxing to me is taking your time in the parks, walking slowly and enjoying the details. Going back to the hotel for a break/nap is relaxing, too.
